bet flop, then fold, or just give up.

Villain is very loose and bets a lot of flops whether he has hit or not. You flat call here with 55 knowing that there will most likely be overcards on the flop and he is going to bet and put you to a decision. This play is messy and I can;t see it working very often. You might as well do this with 23o as 55.

as played check/fold. if he calls most of the time you have 2 outs. you want to check/raise with a hand you know you'll have outs if villian actually hit the flop

anyone move in preflop? 38 pfr is pretty ridiculous

I just tend to fold this preflop, even against a LAggy villain like this, you don't have implied odds to play for set value. You can only really be confident that you're good to play for your whole stack if you hit a set and that's only 1 time in 7.5.

easy fold, if im to call i need to know how he plays postflop.
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.

fold. If im as short stacked as the button i push this looking for a race (or the blinds). With your stack easy lay down

I don't mind your preflop call if you are purely looking to hit the set, and check/fold otherwise. I don't think you stand much of a chance out of position, with 87% of flops looking not too favorable.
