    Default Stealing C-bets...

While playing in a 45 person sng last night, I had the same player raise my cbet twice. I think he was simply trying to steal it. I don't think there was any way he would have had that type of read on me. Both hands, I raised 3x before the flop with AK. After i missed the flop, I made a cbet of 1/2 the pot. He raised me. I noticed that he played quiet a few hands and I believe he did it at least one other time to another player.
Is it likely that he had hit the flop each time or was he simply bluffing and trying to steal.
Is this a move that I should be using and if so, what are the conditions needed to make it successful.

Your cbet probably looked suspicious on a raggy flop so he snapped it off.

So what range of hands do you reraise with. Do you only reraise if you hit part of the flop or is it a total bluff?

You can't cbet every hand, especially in sngs. AK misses and a lot of times your A high is still ahead, but how do you know when your cbet gets raised? That's why you've got to lighten up the cbetting. A lot of players will be onto you very easily and will reraise you even if they are sitting with A high and a worse kicker, simply for the fold equity. I like to cbet my missed flops in position around 75% of the time. Over - cbetting gives a very laggy image to the rest of the players, and good players will exploit your aggression when the circumstances are right.

I try to vary when i hit. If I'm holding AK and hit an A, I'll go about 1/3 to 1/2. If I hit a K, I'll go 1/2 to 2/3's. might be a little backwards but I have had success with donks holding middle pair ace kicker calling the bigger bet...
I will check about 10% if I hit and there is no flush or str8 draws...

I raise CBets at least half the time i see them come out, depending on stack sizes its quite a bit more frequent. Its a move you have to have in my opinion

Its a very standard move when you spot c-bets, the only decent countermove is to push over, but you have to have some confidence that villian is using this move, it is very unlikely he hits every flop, so if he does that a lot just push over the next time, chances are he will fold and not do it again for a while
