Default What to do with KK, when an A flops

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    CO (t4105)
    Button (t720)
    SB (t865)
    BB (t5295)
    UTG (t1350)
    Hero (t1165)

Preflop: Hero is MP with K, K.
1 fold, Hero raises to t150, 1 fold, Button calls t150, SB calls t135, 1 fold.

    Flop: (t480) A, 5, Q (3 players)

    SB checks, Hero.....

I try not to always assume the worst here....do I bet and hope there is no Ace....if I check, even if he doesn't have it he could bet and represent the ace possibly pushing me off the hand. No real super read, button had been playing pretty tight as we neared the ITM.

Raise a little less preflop, 120 is fine.

On the flop, with 2 opps seeing the flop, just check and see what happens, there's a great likelihood that somebody called your raise with an ace. If it checks around on the flop I might take a stab on the turn.

Search for a thread called "KK with an ace" in this forum, it had over 100 replies and was a GREAT discussion on this point. EDIT - here is the link http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ic.php?t=21766

I check behind here. if you bet and get called, you've lost. The only way to really win anything here is to improve OR let your opponents bluff at you.

This is almost never a good spot to be in, and it's highly uncomfortable. With a raise so big preflop, you've narrowed your opponents range's down a lot. You're up against pairs and big aces for the most part.

I also second the thread that Taipan linked. It's an awesome thread.

He needs to bluff two streets to push you off. Unlikely. Easy check behind.
