Default $11 180 sng FT T7s in SB...

This hand has been bothering me, i think i might have played it poorly... what do you guys think?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t1600 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    MP2 (t30877)
    MP3 (t9965)
    CO (t38435)
    Button (t61325)
    SB (t13735)
    Hero (t31375)
    UTG (t20176)
    UTG+1 (t48323)
    MP1 (t15789)

Preflop: Hero is BB with T, 7.
    1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t3600, 1 fold, MP2 calls t3600, 4 folds, Hero calls t2000.

    Flop: (t9800) J, 8, J (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets t11600, MP2 folds, Hero folds.

    Final Pot: t21400

The more i look at the hand the more i'm convinced that i played it poorly. I think i should have bet the flop. I was going for the chk raise, but because he bet so much I didnt think I had any FE .

You put in 1/10th of your stack and got pretty much the best flop for your hand, except the board is paired. I'd shove after UTG+1's overbet. (He's only got 5-6k left anyways)

The paired board is what really slowed me down. Then after the huge overbet i thought AJ/88 unlikely, but still i'm up against a pair which i'm still behind. as it turns out i was 51:48, basically a coin flip against any pair other than JJ/88.

Ok I'm missing something, because Villain has 48000 chips correct? You have plenty of fold equity, and he doesn't have the jack. Just push into him. Even if he calls you have plenty of live ones.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Oh I misread the stacks... I read UTG's stack as UTG+1's. That's what I get for posting after a 11 hour session. Blehhhhhhh. I shove this all day.

    Agree and I'll add:
why does this look like an over bet to you? It's barely over PS and would be a reasonable play by 99-TT types.

If you're going to play this hand in the first place and you fold on a flop like this, what flop are you looking for? You should have just folded preflop then.

yep... pretty much butchered this one. probably the hand that cost me the tourny, a double here would've been huge. few hands later ran JJ into KK, then KK vs. AJ to finish 9th.
