Laying down kings on the river

Very early in sng, no reads. I can't see how i could call the river with an obvious st8t out there. Could this guy have pck 7s, or A7, Was my betting appropiate throughout the hand?

I think the fold is fine. Check/call flop, check/call turn, lead for all his chips on the river says to me that KK is beat here. I'd say the guy has a set of 8s, 6s or 5s or that he's an idiot who called your preflop raise with A7/K7, chased his straight draw to the river and hit.

If the river doesn't complete a str8t draw, should I pay the guy off if he indeed his set on the flop. If villan had flopped a set wouldn't he/she reraise me considering the str8t possiblilites. Then again my raise utg indicates a hand that does not fit in with this particlular flop, therefore eliminating a possible str8t draw for me, allowing villan to slowplay his set.

I think you played the hand fine, all in all. good raise, and good leads. When i'm called on that turn, I'm probably check folding any river that's not a K.

It's very much played like a set, or some other made hand. the only thing that I think fits in here is 77, which beats you on the river, anyway...

For the love of God, why not make a decent sized bet preflop? A raise like that makes me get funky with the likes of 89s,9Ts,JTs etc.

Point taken, but with the blinds so low how much diff. will it make? 3times the bb isnt a decent sized raise preflop?

I absolutely pump it with premiums in the early levels since nobody is paying attention and a lot of donks have read somewhere that strong means weak. I would make it at least 130.
