    Default PS 114, shortstacked

What should my calling range be here?

    Poker Stars
    No Limit Holdem Tournament
    Blinds: t200/t400
    (Ante: t25)
    7 players
    Converter

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: t1688
    UTG+1: t3237
    MP1: t2035
    CO: t2481
    Hero: t1770
    SB: t2230
    BB: t59

    Pre-flop: (7 players) Hero is Button with K A
    UTG raises all-in t1663, 2 folds, CO raises all-in t2456, Hero ??.

I'd put UTG on a wider range and CO on a fairly tight. I think that you have a good chance of a big chip-up or bust out here. It's not a bubble situation so having a little looser calling range and gambooling is ok. SNGPT says a call when you put it on the tightest range. However, you can only processes it by CO pushing only but I don't think that it matters here.

You gotta call this ... everyone's ranges are insanely large ...

How can you play these things? I can't even stand $60s. $114s are just terrible.

What is it that you hate about these? just interested to hear what is so bad about them.

    thanks in advance

I think I call here as well, just because you're so short relative to the blinds that you're going to be pushing basically anything that's folded to you and I'm not sure that even the added FE gives you as good a chance as calling with AK (not to mention the triple-up = huge factor).
    I run a training site...

By the time you get to this level, everyone has learned push/fold poker so well that I don't see where you find your edge in these things. When you play turbos, you have your edge by understanding preflop poker and you win them when people don't play push/fold properly. By the $114s, from what I've seen, you're playing pretty much the same people over and over and over and over again. Occassionally you'll get the random donk who'll wander in and play a game and lose his money, but usually that's not the case. So I dunno how you're supposed to make money ...

And damn, look at this hand. It's 7-handed at 400 blinds. Tell me how it can be fun???

Well, QQ+/AK seems an easy push here but what about AQ(s)? JJ? TT?

    i call this all day.

as for a range, im not calling with TT, JJ is questionable.
I would be more likely to call with AQs than TT/JJ i think.

you have to gamboool a bit here, but with these blinds, there will be someone getting bounced out nearly every hand.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.
