You raised preflop and get 3 callers, that sucks, but that does not mean you dont have the best hand now, I dont see anyone calling here with hand that gives them two pair, your only concern is a set and I am paying it off.

I see your point, it was a pretty uncordinated board, so a set or 2 pair is worst case scenario. So in the long run is it more profitable for me to just come over top in theis particlar situation and if i get beat by a set, or an over pair, so be it?

Standard play for overpair is to reraise preflop, so your concern is 88/44, and thats about it.
I would say most likely hand for villian is JK/JQ

/Shrug... one of them already checked so I wouldn't be as worried and if sdpowop happened to wake up with a set which is unlikely then I cross it off as bad luck.

But saying that, I don't find this to be that bad of a fold. But judging by your read on the bb, him overbetting the pot like this and you having tptk, I'm putting my stack in everytime and expecting to see TJ-KJ a lot more than 44/88/J8. Honestly, I have seen donks do this with T9 more than anything, and I bet he shows that (or TJ-KJ) a lot more than you think.

BTW, this is just a real rough range I made up of the hands he could do this with. I think it could even be wider than this due to his donk status, depending upon how donkish he is.
