Default My first Stars $16 Turbo HH - Trimmed - Need comments!

    Guys,

Could you please comment on my first Stars $16 Turbo? I don't think I've played it bad. I felt that when we were left to 6 players, it would be all-ins between 2 guys and one would loose. This up to the point that only 3 players where left ... Is this always the case?

On the turn I took a lot of time to think but seeing the 4.2-1 pot odds I was having against the chances to hit the flush 1-4, I decided to call.
When the Ace hit I would have called a bet up to 200-250 as I did not thought he had a Jack.

    MagicLasso: doesn't show hand

I think this was a stupid play from me. Most often then not one of the small stacks would push all-in, so I should have checked.

    Thanks for the comments GOAT!

I agree with all of them.
Hand 6: The QJ hand, I felt I had to make a move and I could win the pot.
I didn't thought about pushing the A3o with 3 players to act behind me, but I guess you're right.

A3o may be a push so post the full hand here to check.

OK, I'll have a look at this without reading Goat's comments, will be interesting to see how we compare.

[Tc 8d] SB (M=50.00; c+c+c+f+f+f+c+F) - I definitely call this getting 11:1 on my money, but only get frisky if I hit 2 pair+ on the flop. Implied odds are HUGE here if you flop something nice.

    1. AQo - Turn is fine, I call this too. BTW I have played nikkibaby before, he/she is a TERRIBLE player (55/4 over 134 hands) so I would expect him/her to have crap like A8 or a smaller pocket pair here. On the river, I would not check behind, I would value bet for about 250. You're good here, none of the draws got there so if opp had a J they would not check.

    2. AJo - fold preflop, AJo UTG+1 isn't worth the trouble.

    3. AQo - 150 to go, don't limp this. The problem with limping is that if you get 4 opps seeing the flop, it becomes harder to know if you're good even if you hit an A or Q. Postflop is fine, but if they call you then slow down. That said, unless they're limping AK you're likely good here.

    4. A2s - Completing is fine here but you're looking for 2 pair+ or a flush/flush draw. Leading here when you have none of the above is pointless. Check/fold.

[8d Ks] SB (M=3.78; f+f+f+r+f+F) - if there hadn't been a raise in front this would have been a super easy shove.

    6. QJo - I don't like this push with the limper in front. If it had been folded to you then this is a good push but there's too much of a risk that the limper (who has you outstacked 3:1 remember!) will call your push with A-crap or K-crap that you're behind. If called, there isn't too much that you dominate...at best you'll be a 45/55 underdog.

[3c Ah] MP1 (M=5.12; f+f+F) - I was wondering whether this was a push but I reconstructed the stack sizes from the previous hand, good fold.

    7. K2o in the SB - good.

    8. KTo - good. The antes make a lot of difference here - without the antes it would be read dependent, with them it is an easy shove.

Actually, I never call this in the beginning of a SNG ... I want to preserve my chips. I'll try to improve on this!

Even if I was almost sure I was ahead I didn't want to loose more chips to a J ...

Actually, here I've decided to change pace and slow play AQo ... and I must say that the flop was very dangerous as someone would easily limp with 98 or K9 ... I agree, I should have raised pre-flop.

I agree, this was a bad shove. My reads told me that the guy who limped would fold, but with 3 other players to act, it was dangerous ... now I remember that I was getting stressed and pissed of for not being able to steal a pot and shoved this! I have to maintain calm in these situations.

You mean that you don't always shove this on the button with my stack?
I thought this was a standard shove?

NNNNOOOOOOOO, FPS, think why you are changing pace. you chage pace against good players who are observant and can play accordingly. these type of players dont exist at this level which is why ABC poker wins. just keep it simple and you succeed.
