I assume you recognize how different this flop is from your KQ hand you posted, plus the stack sizes are much different compared to the blinds. You should be much more willing to release your hand here vs there.
I think the way you played it is OK, now you assume you are beat and fold. If he had smooth called here, you would check any river, fold to a big bet, maybe pay off a small one depending on the river (meaning, don't call anything if the river is the Ks).
Also you can check the turn and see what he does. If he checks behind, you should assume he is drawing and base your river action on that - usually check call if draw(s) miss, check fold if they hit. If he bets turn, usually give up unless it's a really small bet, because the river will cause issues either way.
