Default TPTK 2nd hand, this is why I need to learn cash ($16)

No reads on any player obviously. What's the best line here?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    CO (t1500)
    Button (t1480)
    SB (t1480)
    Hero (t1500)
    UTG (t1480)
    UTG+1 (t1500)
    MP1 (t1500)
    MP2 (t1500)
    MP3 (t1560)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9, A.
UTG calls t20, 3 folds, MP3 calls t20, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

    Flop: (t80) 4, 9, 2 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t80, UTG folds, MP3 raises to t160, SB folds, Hero calls t80.

    Turn: (t400) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets t200, MP3 raises to t1380, Hero folds.

    Final Pot: t1980

    check/call turn

    Check that turn.

    3 senarios:

    1. He limped with PP and hit a set.
    2. He's looser than the british parole system and limped with A3 or 63.
3.He's pulling this with air or a pair lower than yours.

    1. is my favorite. Then 2.

This seems like such a risky play with air, that unless he got the Sam Fahra annual "pulling ridiculus moves and getting away with it" for his birthday last week, its almost worth discounting.
    He has something.

I call the flop raise hoping for diamond or 9 on turn. Since you got neither check/fold. (Unless his turn bet gives you the right price for a call.)

Leading out could be a disaster. As it was he priced you out, but a better raise may have forced a call and left you pot committed.
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

Nah, I say check call him down if it's cheap enough.

I've found recently that a lot of opps at the $16s will minraise a flop bet "to see if you're for real". They will then fold to a turn bet if you fire again, which is why I bet again. When he pushes over I know I'm beat (I suspect he had a set).

That said, this early perhaps checking the turn was the best line here.

i dont like to play a line other than what i think is best based on ''its early''

just play correctly. usually calling a flop RR then betting out turn is weird. i kind to attack fishy play like that.

turn call, half pot. opp has shown he uses minbets so turn may not be pricey.

after being reraised on flop any check on turn will enduce a bet which is likely to be repeated on river if you call it. This early its tempting to check/fold altho this feels weak.

'Donky in love with Q9soooted makes killing off thinking player.'

Is reraising flop bet worth it? If you took the turn bet and used it to reraising him on the flop do you get any advantage with this play? As soon as he reraised you he had position and gained the initiative in the hand.

this hand is an example of minimizing losses long-term. so RR flop aint worth it

Ehh I don't even call the min raise on the flop. No reads and it's early, it's a waste of 80 chips. Next hand.

P.S. nice subject. Come learn cash with me

ok looks like we should mix in some cash and start a whole load of posts in that forum.

SNGs arent the same, shoving turn aint standard there

I was all set to switch a bit of time to cash from SNGs but Stars $16 turbos are so soft at the moment that I can't stop playing them!

You think $25 is bad. You should come down to the baron wasteland that is $10NL. OMG am I finding it hard to learn down there. Just when an hours work has put me $5 up i end up in a raising war with rockets against A8 and I'm sure i don't need to post what the turn AND river were. There goes ANOTHER buyin. DOn't know if ill ever be profitable in cash.

I would suggest at least two-tabling. I can still maintain at least a 25% ROI at the $10+1 SNG's.

taipan cos I thought remembering that he only single tables the SNG's? But then my brain is not functional due to heat and humidity in my little office. Apologies if I was wrong.

Yeah, I only single-table SNGs because I only play for fun and single-tabling lets me deal with the interruptions I often have when I play.
