    Default Help My Post-Flop Game.

It was bad when i first started playing (obviously) and hasn't improved a great deal in the intervening 18 months.

Playing only sng's (mainly turbo) & 3 or 4 tabling is the main reason for this, as far as i can see.

    It's been all +EV pushes/aggression/position/bubble play, ect.

Time to spend a lot of time working on my post-flop game, as of now, as well as continuing with my sng education.

I think learning a new game is what i need to do as well as read a book or 2.

What game/limit's would you suggest i try (holdem) or any other advice to improve this aspect of my game.

I am in the same situation as you, I think I'm OK with preflop pushes and folds (I still do make mistakes here but I'm less bad than my opponents) but I'm bad with deep stacked turn and river play. My suggestion would be to learn to play NL cash - I'm trying to do this at the moment, without a great deal of success!

Me too and for the same reason. If your BR supports anything better than $10NL then go for it.

I am fairly confident in my postflop game now, but wasn't a couple months ago. All it takes is putting sngs mainly on hold for a little while and multi-tabling some full ring. Really, position and patience is key for early sng post flop. Remain tight but bet when checked to in most situations that you have position in.

That said, imho early game post flop is very low on my scale of important skills for sngs. If you can survive til push/fold mode and make good push/fold decisions, you're a winning sng player. If you can learn how to get enough chips in the mid game without needing to enter push/fold mode, then you're a sng pwner.

Yes. Many people don't realize that you don't have to do anything special at all to win a SnG. Just get to the bubble. And then crush everyone on the bubble. Simple!!

Your first goal is to get to the bubble. It's this that makes decisions in a SnG different from those in a, say, MTT.

Wow I think I might have butchered this response. I'm so tired. Going to sleep now

That's the problem really, i know i can be successful at low'ish buy-in sng's without having a strong post flop game, so i concentrate on the important aspects of sng's.

Anyway, No Limit Holdem: Theory & Practice - ordered, and i'll start playing some ring after reading some basic strategy.

Thanks for the input everyone, & hey taipan168, thanks for not mentioning the Ashes.

This book is fantastic, I'm getting a lot out of it. Not that easy a read but it's worth following through the equations.

This book will be very very useful to all of you. The secoond most useful thing is practics and its cashgames to practise postflop play.
