not really sure what i was doing here on the river...i guess i was hoping for him to make a stab...
do you think leading the river was probably the best option??

wow that guy with the 8's is a fish. I like your line. I would be wary of the board pairing, check and call bets on the river if they are 1/2 pot or less.

why are you expecting him to bet river? he obviously likes his hand because of his call of the big turn raise, so i would just push river.

also, i would reraise the flop because alot of cards might come on turn that would kill your action.

Agreed. I also like reraising the flop because it reads like less of a monster than the line you took. I think a good player gets away from 88 on your turn raise, but potentially goes broke if you check-raise the flop.

    slow playing is overrated
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

As played I would have pushed the river. Flop play imho was fine but I would have lead the turn for a half to 3/4 pot bet as well. You would like to get as many chips in the middle with this hand.

no one's remotely concerned that the way opp is playing it looks like he's got a set? Not concerned about the river pairing the board? Not concerned about it being early?

Wouldn't an opp. usually reraise the turn? Even if not with the pot being so large I can't contemplate folding here and I'd like to make more chips when I do have the best hand and he will check behind if he has a crappy showdownable hand as he does in this instance. I'm not sure how many chips FT sngs start with but depending on 1500 I'd bet 500 or push.

    yea i was concerned.
i thought he liked the flop enough that he might've hit a set...so the river paired the board and i thought - maybe he boated...but then again like i said before, i wasn't really sure

thanks to everyone so far that has posted legitimate responses
