Default play against a loose ultra aggresive type

    Hi all

I play in a weekly home sit-n-go with on average 6 players. Most of the time I do pretty well. Most of the usuals are loose and fairly passive, so I don't have much of a problem. The past few weeks this guy has been playing that is pretty loose, but ultra aggressive. He has picked up that I play pretty tight and always will reraise me huge, specially if he has any stack. For example on one hand it was down to four of us and I was on the button, I raised 4Xbb with AJo and then he put me all in from the bb, I thought about it and folded. He showed a K9s, another time similar he showed poket 2s.

At first I just let him steal from me and tried to trap him with a monster, but what has been happening is that as I am waiting the blinds are going up too fast.

I wondering what is the best way to play against type of player? I think I am a better player, so I don't want to race. I also don't want to be bullied around. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Jutah

Once your or his stack reaches ~10x BB, if he's sitting on your left, then put him all-in if you're going to play. Many LAgg players will happily re-raise your standard raises but won't call an all-in without the goods.

Also, once the blinds get large relative to your stack, don't be afraid to open up your calling ranges if you think you're ahead of his pushing range.

The answer highly depends on the following
    1. Tournament structure
    2. The way other people play

Assuming its only the two of you in the pot you need to open up your game a bit once the blinds are high
Reraise him with hands like 77+, AJ+, trap him with strong hands.
Sure you will take some risks because he has a big hand once in a while, but once M is low agression wins long run

FWIW, I think most home games end up being structured poorly enough that a lot of skill advantage (especially of a conservative player) ends up being minimalized. Negreanu recently said in his blog that most live MTTs with 75 minute levels or below become crapshoots. That's a bit extreme, but I'd bet your SnG has blinds of 20 mins or less, in which case you're going to have to do some gambling. When you pick up decent hands against this guy, you may just going to have to go all the way.

My home games also have these serial reraisers. If you raise with AJ and you know he's reraising anyway then just shove over.

Then for added home game fun, show your hand, wait a few orbits, raise into his BB with trash and come over the top again. Then YOU STAND UP, THROW YOUR CARDS AT HIM AND SHOUT "HOW DO YUOU LIKE THAT B!TCH!"

Thanks guys. I try to keep the blinds at about 5 mins per person, that seems to be ok. If they are any lower it does become a crap shoot. Lol Atlas I will have to try the show and then bluff his BB.
