I had no other prior engagements, and could have joined. In fact, I was watching the tournament for a few minutes when it started debating whether or not to join. But in the end I decided a $10 R+A is just too far outside of my bankroll to make it worth it, especially when when I'm looking at an average of 10 rebuys per person. With my current BR, I just can't afford to drop $70 to $100 on a single tournament, especially not one against good players where I'm likely to be an underdog anyway.

I can't play a $10 R+A either. I'd rather just watch. I have $40 on stars, but that's for the $1 and $2 foldaments. I don't have an answer, but the guys who would play in alot of these tournies and gauntlets are limited in funds, and the ones who aren't don't have enough insentive to play a 10 or 20 player tourney for the value.

An example is the Gauntlet. I can't pay $11 for more than 1 or 2 times. I have a $1k bankroll and playing in those is just not feasable. I may be willing to play in a tourney or two with the big names but I don't even recognise half of them. So to pay $10 plus Rebuys against unknowns is to much.

    But it's a rebuy!!!

Yeah, and it was only in rebuy period. Could just sit there and wait for 99+ and hopefully double up, and play more after rebuy is over

Well, I'd thought about email-spamming the entire FTR member list, but I'm not sure that would be well-received... would it?

I understand. Unfortunately, private tourneys on PokerStars have a mandatory minimum buy-in of $10+$1.

Why not? We get e-mail announcements from poker sites on a regular basis. It would sure get participation up, and probably bring in a lot of players who haven't logged into FTR in a while.

honestly, this last tourney would have been a great spot to really get a nice boost to your BR. The people rebuying 7 or 10 times were just going all-in every hand for fun (NOT THAT I WOULD EVER DO THAT!!), so needless to say, you wouldn't have to rebuy at all to have a massive edge in the game if you just played tight and nitty.

i look at FTR tourneys as a great way to have fun and donk off money to low stakes players, Lukie is correct, +++EV. I promise gabe is not playing his best for the $300 first prize while he battles for bigger POTS on his 50 other tables.

I agree spam is OK, and also agree that there is no better way to hide a post than to sticky it.

i wasn't going allin just for fun...i was trying to get a big stack and if that fails, at least the stacks would be deep around me, giving me a bigger edge

Wish I would have seen this post earlier. I would have loved to play!!!! Sounds like it was fun.

Oh, and Congrats X-man on an awesome site. I have truly enjoyed being a small part of the fun!!!
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.
