Don't get involved here. Fold preflop and definitely check the flop.

Well your opp is calling it like a draw - so Ahxh or 9T both make a lot of sense. Other possibilities inlcude hands like TJ, JQ, JK, etc. or the 8.

The only hand u r beating is a flush draw gone bad.

I'm fine with your complete preflop as long as you are only playing it for 2 pair/flush possibilities. Check/fold that flop.

He's either on a busted flush draw or he had a piece of the flop like an 8 and hit trips on the river. I wouldn't waste my chips preflop by calling. As Chard said, you are playing for more than a pair here. I don't mind a stab on the flop but after that it's check/fold for me. The turn card completes a str8 possibility so I wouldn't waste chips there by betting.

I'm OK with pre flop, but not if you're going to bet the turn and call the river. flop bet is close. If the board was dry you could just give up if called, but with the FD out you end up in exactly this spot.

    small hands small pots.

Well, as those that checked the results noted, I called and he was on a busted flush draw. I called because this was the hand that I put him on.

Immediately after the showdown I said to myself, "Great call!!! Never do this again."

    Thanks for the comments.
