Default God dammit, turned staight, river pairs board, massive rr

Villain is the reason I'm at this table. My notes simply say: "can't let go of anything if he hits the board". However, this reraise is very out of character. The call or check/call is generally his weapon of choice. I'm definitely the tightest person at the table but I doubt anyone has noticed that I've been nut peddling.

Holdem No Limit - $0.2 BB

    CO ($14)
    Button ($14.70)
    SB ($41.53) [Hero]
    BB ($65.89)
    UTG ($11.64)
    MP ($32.24)

Hero is SB with T, 7
    Preflop: (6 players, $0.3)
UTG calls $0.20, MP calls $0.20, CO calls $0.20, Button folds, Hero calls $0.10, BB checks

    Flop: 9, A, 8 (5 players, $1)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG checks, MP bets $0.40, CO folds, Hero calls $0.40, 2 folds

    Turn: J (2 players, $1.8)
Hero bets $1, MP calls $1

    River: 9 (2 players, $3.8)
Hero bets $5, MP calls $5 and raises $20, Hero?

if he cant fold any peice of the board, he just made trips here as much as a boat. this just depends on how good your read is.

    i fold this, fwiw

overbet turn when you hit - ESPECIALLY against someone who cannot lay down.

I find it bizzare that he would not raise the turn with 2 pair/set..... maybe he has QT!

Folding is probably correct, but I don't think I can fold.

In retrospect I realised that this is all there is to it. He basically has 9x but we don't know if the x is another piece of the board. At te time, I made the crying call and he had K9. Still not sure about it though.

And I will bet the turn harder in future.

I don't get how this would ever be a fold. do you think he was really slow playing a set until the river, only to then massively over-re-raise? doesnt make sense. if he's slow playing he makes a "value re-raise" on the river. It just reeks of a poorly played hand that he thinks he struck gold at the end.

I would probably call here. I don't see how he can have a boat. Probably wouldn't be limping with pocket aces or jacks. Pocket eights are possible. Highly doubt pocket 9's is what hes got. Q-10 is possible but he can also have A-J.

I call against this player. Fold against better players.

Yea really. Start playing the player a bit. You want to build a huge pot against a calling station so why are you betting half pot. On the river I probably fold as played since you said he seems very passive.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

bigspenda73: But how much did you win?
