    Default stupid push?

I think one of my bigest leaks is pushing, when a regular raise of 3x BB would have had the same effect. I just thought it would add more pressure on villain here. After reviewing the hand history I realized I had pushed the last two hands already. But holding an ace in the SB with everyone having folded to me is just one of those situations I cant let go most of the time. So would have anyone else pushed here or was it just a donkish move?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Button (t1680)
    Hero (t2610)
    BB (t3410)
    UTG (t2330)
    MP (t2540)
    CO (t2430)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, 3.
4 folds, Hero raises to t2610, BB calls t2410.

If its not a turbo then no im not ready to push yet. We're not on the bubble. Also If ive pushed the last two then no way. I want the goods next time. Im sure its +EV but every time you push you have to think that maybe opps calling range widens. You're a long way off the money and there is more poker left to play I think.
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

You have to know villain's calling range in order to determine if this is ok. I would tend to think that this is not a +EV play if the guy is fairly loose and if you are called and you loose you are out. You are not desperate enough yet to where you have to push. I would make it a standard 3xbb and go from there.

with 10-11xBB ill push, with a little bit more like above then ill bet 500, if called i check flop OOP.
Jman: every time the action is to you, it's an opportunity for you to make the perfect play.

You need him to fold 80% of the time for this to be +EV. Not nearly as bad as I thought at first glance.

Yep, I play it the same as this. The problem is that if an A comes on the flop it's a good spot to lose all your chips...

It was a turbo. Blinds would have definitly increased before I am in the blinds again. I just had one of those "can't let the opportunity pass" moments. Villain called with AQ. So I figure he really had to have some kind of legit hand to call, since he let me pass all the other times. What really bothers me is that I still had the stack to make a standard raise. If he had pushed over me (which I guess he would have done), I would have been able to let the hand go and still have 2000 in chips.

I'm meh on raising here because opp may shove with a hand like KJ or worse because he's sick of you and then you make a terrible fold getting a price as a favorite. If I think I have super agg image in this spot I'll just complete. You can fold to a raise, or shove over if you feel frisky. And he won't put you on an A as often after the limp.

I think I would have folded here because opp called.

I dont consider A3o a strong hand, it is one of those hands that are judged more by the low card then the high card.
With a Lagg image and a pretty tight BB I would either call or raise 3BB here

According to NLHE Theory & Practice, pushing this would be +chip ev, even with our hand turned face up.

Of course you could argue that limping or raising smaller is more +EV, but i would push.

Well, actually, it isn't, (I just adjusted the numbers, getting a call from pps and A3+) but is just slightly -EV. The range is still the 20% or tighter we need to profit, but the problem is that now some of the hands that would have called but we have beat fold (KQ and other non-ace high card hands) while others that have us beat now call (A4 etc.). Of course, if the blinds are slightly bigger, or if there are antes, it would be a +EV push face up. Just thought I'd nitpick on NLHE T&P.
