Death from Lady Luck!
Hey guys,
So Im doing a 2 table Tourney. I went through the entire game playing conservatively. I didnt have many good hands so all of the chips I gained were from careful stealing situations. Anyways, I managed to build it up to about 3600 (from 2000).
The blinds are 100/200. I receive QQ in early position, so I throw in a 3x bet. Everybody folds, (the table was pretty tight), and the small blind reraised me for only another 400. Easy call right? Anyways, the flop came out 272 and the player immediately threw in 3000 which would put me all in. From my observations, he is a relatively tight player, but what I really noticed was how whenever he got a premium hand, he would immediately raise all in, regardless of blinds, stacks, number of players, etc. At this point I felt like he had an AK and was trying to give me no chance to play right after the flop. Anyways, I made the call and he flipped over KK and knocked me out.
Is QQ just not worth too much as an overpair when the table is tight? BTW, does anybody know approxiamately the odds of someone having AA or KK in this situation (six ppl at the table). Thanks guys
