Default Crap hand OOP. Now what?

5 SNG. No real reads, but Opps seemed generally solid, with the exception of the BB.

Now, I certainly should have probably folded the hand preflop to avoid goofy situations precisely like this. I got seduced by the 7 to 1 the pot was offering me and dumbly took a flop OOP. Let's get past the "Fold preflop" statements and accept that I didn't. You're right and all, but I didn't do it.

Table: 11235050 (Real Money) Seat #5 is the dealer
    Seat 1 - DIJKIE ($595 in chips)
    Seat 3 - PHILLYNICK ($1500 in chips)
    Seat 4 - TED6714 ($1845 in chips)
    Seat 5 - GLASGEE_UNIT ($2780 in chips)
    Seat 6 - FORTUNE500 ($1435 in chips)
    Seat 7 - PADULS ($875 in chips)
Seat 8 - FOLEYS CLUB ($1555 in chips)
    Seat 9 - TGMGR ($2915 in chips)

    *** POCKET CARDS ***
    Dealt to FORTUNE500 [4s 6h]
    FOLEYS CLUB - Folds
    TGMGR - Folds
    DIJKIE - Folds
    PHILLYNICK - Folds
    TED6714 - Calls $50
    GLASGEE_UNIT - Calls $50
    FORTUNE500 - Calls $25
    PADULS - Checks
    *** FLOP *** [4h 6d 9s] - Bingo! Bottom two pair... let's lead out!
    FORTUNE500 - Bets $150
    PADULS - Calls $150 - Dammit.
    TED6714 - Raises $300 to $300 - Huh.
    GLASGEE_UNIT - Calls $300 - Double Huh
    FORTUNE500 - ??? What's my play?

First of all, this is precisely why we fold this junk preflop. But what are my real options. I certainly am not calling... I need to either cut my losses, or push and negate my positional disadvantage.

The two in LP had been reasonably aggressive, and I THINK they'd have raised a decent PP there, so I'm not losing a lot of sleep over a set, but it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility [/b]

I'd probably push and be really bummed when someone turns over a pair of 9's

I think preflop is OK, getting 7:1 on the call I would sometimes complete and sometimes fold. At 50/100 blinds I would definitely fold however as chip preservation is more important and we wouldn't have the implied odds to play for a set or 2 pair.

On the flop, I am shoving every time here. At a $5 buyin you'll see T9, A6, 55 and all sorts of other goofy hands that you crush.

    Open Shove?

I ran this play over in my head and decided that I was ahead too often to fold. Glad to see that the consensus is that I should push, which is the answer I came up with as well

    Preflop: Fine
Flop: Given your position and the number of people seeing the flop you need to bet harder on the flop, at least pot size, maybe overbet a little.

I doubt shoving is the best move here. With a caller, a minraise (begging for a call) and another flat call I think there is a set out there

Sorry, I should have added "as played, shove over". I agree with TLR, on the flop you want to lead for at least the pot size, call any push and push over if raised.

Just to support everyone else. I think you need to pot it on the flop and shove over raises. You need to bet hard when you have two pair since most of the time you hit two pair that can give opponents a good drawing hand. So price them out.

pot is only 200 so i think 150 is fine. i can only see the arguement when bet is compared to the results. plus the difference of 50 i think is negligable

board is quite dry regards draws so i think bet is fine, i wouldnt go 100 though at all.

what sucks is board is dry and gets such action but given stakes ill shove.

Don't get me wrong, I agree about he board being somewhat dry. I was making a general statement that when you hit two pair, your opponents will have a draw. Example, you get involved in a hand with QJs and there are several others in the hand. The board comes Q8J.

However with Fortune's hand, I like to bet hard because you're going to get your chips in anyways with this hand. Also, because of the level of play, who knows someone may have 78 and are min raising because of their draw.
