    Default MTT - Stars $8.8 - 2 hands

    Guys,

This is a $8 MTT in stars.
Could you help me on these hands?

    Thanks!

    My image was tight.
I didn't saw ag69 being very aggressive until now. I could only put him on 66/88/K6 or K8 that would beat me.
Do you think to pair (e.g. AK) would do this?

We are ITM. My image was tight-aggressive, I've been pushing some hands pre-flop. I've shown most good hands, but lately I've doubled up pushing T7o against KQo.
For me here villain would does not have a straight due to his betting on the flop. At the most I would put him on a pair.
My reasoning here is that I need to double up soon, blinds will be 400/800 and 50 ante very soon. For me here this was a good spot. Middle pair and gutshot, I thought I was in front here most of the time, even if I wasn't I still had 9 outs (if he didn't had the straight).
    Would you push here?

first hand looks like a set or another two pair that wants ppl. out because of two diamonds. tough fold, but i think you need to put it down there.

second hand - fold is ok, and so is a push, because you're so short.

first hand, sometimes he has NFD or combo draw. AK/AA/kk seem unlikley given the preflop action. He could have like KQ or KJ. It's close either way. If this was a raise pot, easy call. Of course, it it was raised you probably wouuldn't be there.

hand 1 - tough - you have no way of knowing if you are way behind (set or better 2 pair), way ahead (QK or AK), or racing (lots of draws there). I don't think you can be faulted for calling or folding here.

Hand 2 - Your opp only has to call 2400 more if you push, so you arent going to get him off his hand. So pushing here is NOT a semi-bluff - it means you think you are ahead.

1: Early in a 8$, meh I'd call. He's SB so he could have anything. Don't forget to LOL @ his K3 or something.

2: You're essentially taking a flip here which is fine.

    Thanks for the comments!

Hand 1: I actually folded as everyone seemed to point at, except Johnny. Johnny, I see that this is the kind of situation that you gambol to have a stack? Do you mean that at a 900 MTTs you should take this kind of gambols to increase your stack?

Hand 2: As chardrian mentioned, OPP might fold to a push maybe 10% of the time. I felt he was pushing me and the other guy, so I put him on a pair maximum, so I pushed and he showed K7 (actually, I was 64% favorite instead of 38% dog ), maybe I was lucky on the read. Anyway, he was lucky to catch a 3 on the turn and won the hand. However, I'm happy with my move (I actually thought about what Johnny said the other day on taking +EV gambols middle tourney ), and I would do it again!

The lowest donkament I play is the stars 11ra and there's some donkalicious play going on there so I guess the 8.80fo is similar or worse.

You'll have probably 30-40% equity against a solid player's range (better 2p, combodraws) and 60-70 vs. a donk (TPNK) so it's close.

I see your point, but the thing is that I was not sure what the other opp was going to do ... he might have trips or something and just smooth called my flop bet ...
