    Default stealing blinds

At what point of a tourney does it become important to steal blinds?

    Why?

    Why?

Also - if you have less than 10xBB than stealing rally isn't important is it? What you want to do is double up, not steal.

I think that stealing becomes profitable when the blinds reach a level worth taking. However, I will attempt to steal at all levels when it's folded to me in lp and I have some sort of playable hand like 109o or K9s.

I think its profitable in 2 situations.
A: When its folded to me and you have enough chips too throw out a raise without severly crippling your stack.
B: When the Blinds will add 10% too your stack.

I think blind steals are ALWAYS profitable when the occasions are right.

Steal is important at all levels. If I steal in the first level 3 times I make 3 BB's and 3 SB's...so 4.5 BB's...That means I can either get 4 free limps or I can throw a raise for free and not feel the need to try to protect my raise on a missed flop.

Thats the way I look at it.

How do you determine if they're worth taking or not?

One steal when your stack is low gives you a whole nother orbit - when your M's small this can be inavluable.

sometimes people will play back at you just for the sake of it- but if your stealing from button or cutoff, I think this is dangerous(for them), because they are out of position, and you have the advantage.

I have noticed from the red zone, I can often survive long periods of time stealing blinds with the occasional AI move in position- as you said before char youre really looking to double up here of course, but on a tight table, you can tread water easily for some time with the AI steal-

I will steal at any point in the tournament, in an effort to simply aquire chips. As I said before , if you have someone to your left who just has to play back at you, good- then I can steal more from them with a C bet ( or value bet) on flop or turn.

Another move I really dig is the steal from the blinds with limpers in mid and late position. This is of course more dangerous, because you are risking more, but very effective, I find. Especially in the orange zone when the pot can really add to your stack, the AI steal from SB or BB with limpers is great. If you are called, you are rarely a big dog, and can really chip up. Of course this is read dependent, and shouldnt be used too much, but since you are often moved around alot in an MTT, you can do pretty well with it.
