Default How to play KK with A on the flop?

Hi all, been away for a while on hols and business. Several times today playing $11 SNG NLHE, I have had KK, raised 3-4 BB to isolate and ended up with 3-4 callers and Axx comes on the flop. Knowing that a lot of the callers are donks playing Ax, what is the suggested line to play when out of position? C/bet and fold to a raise or check and see what happens? I like to C/bet most of the time if I'm pf raiser whatever hits on the flop, but in this situation with 3-4 callers, I think its just spewing chips. Just interested in what others think about this.

    Cheers

A good try, ginger. That thread requires you to be in position, not out.

The best answer I can give is raise more preflop so that it is not 4 way.

As given the situation, I probably c/f. Yeah, its weak as hell, but youre never good with KK on an Axx flop against four cold callers.

Cheers euphoricism, yes out of position was the main element of the question, although that thread you pointed me too Ginger was excellent.
I reviewed my stats for KK in Poker Office and it still comes in at 80% winning, so I guess I'm just seeing a bad run for them in recent games.

I've noticed in some of the games I've played lately is that a lot of the donks dont seem to take a lot of notice of how big the raise is, they call any way, hit the A on the flop and showdown A3 os. For example, last SNG I just played there were 4 of them all in PF when blinds were still low and no really short stacks. At showdown there was KK, A7, A4 and 5,6 sooted.......wtf!!! Long may they continue!

well probably the ace-x donks are way negative roi, so at least you can feel better about that. these situations make you want to go all in every time you get kk, which is stupid, but it still feels that way sometimes.

Against that many opps, you gotta check/fold when the A comes on the flop. As you say, too much chance that one of them is playing Ax. Against one opp I would probably throw out a c-bet when I'm first to act on the flop but not against 2+.

As for the PF raise, I think that open raising any more than 4x BB at early levels (and 3x BB at later levels) is a leak.

A leak? 3xBB is fine late, but early OOP i think raising 5xBB is fine. You are getting extra value when the donks call with Ax and dont hit there ace, and you may lose 1 extra BB if the ace does come.

    Easy c/f.

Heads up either c/c or c/f. Don't bet!
