Default reraised pot, c/push river bluff

Villain here is luckybhive.. there is a lot of history between us but it's been a while (several months) since we played together. Good, thinking player, plays looser then me and not nearly as aggressive from what I recall. A dataminer friend of a friend with full coverage of the midstakes games on stars had us 2 as the two biggest winners in the 2/4 game back in October. I'm playing down a bit because I just got back from vegas and I'm a bit rusty, extremely tired, etc. Just getting my groove back.

Preflop and flop seem reasonable enough, turn I'm not sure what I should do honestly. check/call (picked up the double gutter to go along with the gutter and flush draw), check/push, and leading out again all seem like reasonable options. I just check and see what happens and lucky checks back. Obviously no set here... draw or strong 1p hand probably make up the bulk of lucky's range.

River is fairly interesting and I figure if I lead out, I'm getting snap called by a lot of marginal made hands that called on the flop (9x is one of them). I just check, and I think this bet on the end is something like a good one pair hand that can't stand any heat or maybe a busted draw, who knows. I shove... this can easily be QQ/KK on my part (missing the check/bomb on the turn), but I'm worried that lucky won't give me credit because most people would lead the river happily if the turn got checked through. Of course I would too sometimes as well, but balance balance balance.....

Also, it's great for metagame if this isn't always nuts/effective nuts.

    discuss!

looks to me like you backed into a flush

If you usually semi-bluff this turn I guess it's not so good since you'll get looked up way too much.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

I dunno he'd believe you check the turn with a set (or at least how often you would), in which case it works mainly vs another busted draw, but like you said, it is good for your image either way.
just kinda doubting this will work enough of the time without considering any sort of metagame stuff.

I think AA/AK/KQ/89s/9Ts all make a crying call a lot getting 2.75:1 here.

    AJ doesn't play like this,
hearts are unlikely because we can see 4 of them,

Only possible hand he folds is 78s. Thats the way I see it anyway.

Turn spots like this fuck me up a lot too. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who knows what to do here.

I might fire again on the turn since checking takes all the steam out of your semi-bluff.

Then again, the Q might be a bad card for this since it could've improved his hand. How liberally does he call preflop reraises and flop bets in these situations?
