Default Interesting Live Hand against a very well-known villain.

Ok, home game, we have one every week, I've known villain for seven years and we've been playing poker together for two years. He's a decent player, one of the better ones ot the table, but isn't as good as me and usually hates to get involved in pots with me, especially out of position. He plays pretty standard but is capable of raising very light with hands like 52 suited or 67o or whatever, you get the picture.

    £0.20 / £0.40 blinds.

Pre-flop, I'm on the button, there's one limper, Villain raisesto £1.20, I flat call with 9 9 , limper calls and we take a flop.

    4 4 6

Limper is first to act and checks, original raiser (Villain) makes it £3.20 to go and I raise to £9.00. Limper folds and Villain thinks for a while and calls.

Turn brings a 2 and Villain insta-pushes for a pot-sized bet. I have him covered fairly comfortably.

I think for ages, I know he's capable of raising 46 pre-flop, as well as 42, and 35. Also hands such as A6, K6. Villain has been known to blow up at times.

I'm thinking, OK, he'd play a straight slower, boat slower and maybe a 4x slower too. It looks like a panic-bet to me cos he's out of position and doesn't wanna get raised again. Then again, it is afterall a PSB and he could have a legitimate hand, he could have played a higher pair really bad and tried to trap me on the flop, but shit, would he panic as much here with a higher pair. Possibly.
I know that he knows that I'll pick up on his insta-push and he knows I won't like it and he knows it'll look dodgy to me, he knows I'm a thinking player. So I'm thinking is he third-levelling me here?
I come to a conclusion, he has either a pair less than me, 77/88 or he has a pair higher than me, probably TT/JJ that he's trying to give a strange line. He has caught me a couple of times in the past few months with very strange lines that don't make sense so I've paid him off, but overall, I'm defintely up on him, as I said, he doesn't like playing pots with me.

Villain is hard to read and I can't get any tells on him.

I tank for about 8 minutes, then fold, hating myself for being a 'I wanna protect my stack (I was up 2 buyins) noob'. I wish I was a ruthless player not a fassy.

    Anyway, how's my line?

    Results to come.

Live game + donk opponent + bluffy line = call.
The guy takes a conflicting line. He calls the flop as if he's going to slowplay or chase. But then he just open pushes the turn. The scary thing I think would be 22 first, 53 second. But the line makes too little sense.

i wouldnt raise the flop just call and then play the turn from there. Raising puts you in a spot to pay anything that is already ahead

He isn't a donk opponent, he's a competent, thinking player.

But yeah, I should have called.
