disgusting rotting food
So I had the most disgusting experience ever. I went to use my small sauce pan or pot or whatever to heat some milk and I was shocked to discover something in it when I lifted the lid. I realized that it was some creamy tomato soup I had heated like 3 weeks ago and accidentally left to sit there for ... well, weeks. It was so nasty. I use milk in my tomato soup instead of water, which made it a million times worse. There was this grey layer on top of the soup that had actually formed an interesting pattern of curdle or whatever over the days it got to sit there. It smelled SO bad. Amazingly bad. I pretty much grabbed the pot and ran outside so that I wouldn't have to smell it inside my kitchen. Then I dumped the shit into a plastic bag, threw the bag away, ran back into my house, and now it's sitting in my sink with water running into it because I really don't wanna clean it right now. I almost threw the entire pot in the garbage because I didn't wanna deal it
What's the most disgusting rotting food you've ever found in your kitchen/house?
Another time a year or so ago, I left a potato in one of my cupboards for months. Finally one day I needed something in that cupboard and was digusted to see it there. It was moldy as hell and its rotting juices were running all over the shelves. It smelled so nasty. One thing about me is that I'm actually afraid of mold, isn't that stupid? I'm not afraid of spiders, I'm not afraid of bugs, but I'm soooo freaked out by mold. It took about 30 min of psyching myself up before I could bring myself to get the potato out of the cupboard, and I didn't do that until I had plastic bags over my hands. I think it took two attempts actually, the first time I dropped it and screamed. lol ... after I finally got it out, I sprayed that cupboard with so much Lysol. I couldn't eat potatoes for a long time and now I despise the smell of the particular Lysol I used.
I've got this fucked up fear of rotting food. I'm so weird.
