This thread is to track my progress as I make 60,ooo+ dollars this year.

History: I started playing online poker in July by playing the daily freerolls at Party. After about 3 weeks I had $1.75, it takes forever when you only get $.18-$.22 cents when your ITM. One night after getting bounced early from the freerolls, I deceided to buy into a $1 tournament. After placing 18 and receiving $9.50 my roll was up to $10.25. I then started playing the $10 FR beginners tables to build my roll. After about 2 weeks I had built up to $400. I then made my 1st deposit of $50 to activate my account on Aug 4. As my roll increased I moved up in stakes to eventually reaching $100 FR around September 1, but I was playng a little under rolled because I was winning consistently. In the middle of the month I hit a Monster BBJ table share of around $3500. This allowed me to relax knowing I was now properly rolled. Before the legislation passed I was playing $200 FR, after I moved to Stars, started at $50 moved to $200 FR. Then after seeing the much tougher post legislation game I moved to SH. I started at $100 6M then quickly moved to $200 6M. Once I seen that my FR experience did nothing for my postflop game I moved down to $100 6M. I have been playing now for 6 months and haved 5 winning months and 1 break even month(November).


Goals:
1. To make 60k this year playing poker.
2. To get better allowing me to move up in stakes.

The Plan:
1. Play 60,ooo+ hands/month with a 3+ ptbb/100 rate.
2. Use the $650 bonus then the $1500 bonus to supplement each month.
3. Move up after I have grossed 5k/mo for a couple months, and I feel comfortable with my game.

1st update

1800 hands ran 20/17 + 5.75 buy ins. Started out smokin hot, I was up over 7 buy ins, then cooled off with some bad beats. Overall I'm happy with my play today, although most of my hands were fairly straight forward. AKo was a big loser, but I guess you can't win em all.

Alright 9.2K hands of $200nl are in. I feel as though I will be able to stay at this level for a while. Is it me or are the games starting to get a little easier, at least since the UIGEA passed?? Stats so far 20.7/15.9 with a meager 2.24 ptbb/100. Note: This includes a 7.5 buy in downswing. Overall I am fairly happy with my play, and look forward going into the weekend.

These stats are very similar. Does this mean I am too predictable? That I am not adjusting enough? Maybe my adjustments still lead to the same results. Maybe there is no need to adjust. Maybe I am selecting tables that fit my game. Maybe my game fits all tables. I guess only time will tell.

Well this has been awful. Every hand I pushed when I was ahead into a full stack has been outdrawn except 1. This has been by far the worst downswing I ever had 17.5 buy ins. I do not feel that I am being outplayed at all, I just need PStars to turn of the damn doomswitch.

I have a question. In your short time playing poker what do you put your success down to? ie how much time and effort you put into studying, or any traits you feel you have etc.

I can say that my biggest attribute is my ability to read hands. I think this comes from a home game I used to play with my friends. We used to play 7 card stud usually with 9 and low hole card wild, roll your own. What this was is that you are dealt 3 cards and you each choose which card to initially flip up. With everyone having at least 1 wild card it was sometimes very challenging to figure out what your opponents held and they often would hold a very hidden 5 wilds. When I started playing Hold em this summer it was fairly easy for me to get a read on my oppoenents cards considering there were many more possible combinations in our 7 card stud game. As far as studying goes I have read Advanced Holdem, Small Stakes Holdem, HOH I & II, NLHT&P, most of Theory of Poker and I am currently trying to get time to read Psycholgy of Poker. I feel that my studying of these books and this forum has more fined tuned my game, it also taught me what is being taught to other beginners. If you don't now what your opponent is trying to do, how do you expect to beat them?

Which means I am 1 month behind. However I am now within 10k VPPs of Supernova, and I have moved back up to 200 and I am holding my own, finally. Also I took a shot with the whole Neteller ordeal, I had over half my roll in there.
