    Default Multi-Tableing

So, I play a lot of sng's and usually 2 at once but I find on occasion that if I don't space them properly that I can get shorthanded in both at the same time, and my game deteriorates. My game is pretty strong and I make the money often, but fell that sometimes I take 3rd or 2nd because I cant focus on just 1 - the hands keep on coming.
So, does anyone else have this problem? Is it better to just play 1. Or is it better to play 2 and and just deal with it?

    Thanks,

You really just got to get used to playing two at a time even shorthanded. I usually start two sngs about the same time and then will start two more within the next half hour. Ill often get down to 3 handed in more than one table but with a hud you should be able to do ok after playing a few like this.

I set up a multi monitor setup but I guess it's just get quicker with banging back and forth. It just seems to me that I make more mistakes - and when i start noticing that, i get mad...lol
    Ship it holla!

Why do you need more than one monitor to only two table?

I remember an article in cardplayer, that was a topic at this site, that looked at SNG multi-tablers. The article argued that it was the total number of games played that made the difference in profit not mattering if you played $5 or $55. Just ROI was different. So more games =more $. Of course there is a price to pay to get comfortable doing this. You really would like your decisions to be near automatic if you are 4-10 tabling.

For your specific problem of being short handed on more than one table, I would recommend trying to not feel rushed to make a decision. You have more time to act (at least at Stars) than what you might feel you have. Who cares if you make other players wait another 5 secs to make a play-you are here to make money the best way that you can.

with experience, 2 tables feels like nothing. with more experience after that, 4 tables feels like nothing. some pros multitable 12+ tables.

just look at the $15 turbos and you'll see during the day some of the people that likely play these games for a living. they just go 16 games continuously.

once you get accustomed to it, you're basically playing readless. but you make up for lost ROI with more tables.

just remind yourself that aces used to do 10-12 tables of 200s in the old days.

I've just realized recently that doing two 9 players sng's for me is good...but trying to do one 9 man and one HU game is a bad thing because the play is so different...I actually think doing this was losing me a lot of $$$...

this is the concept of playing in "sets" vs playing continuously.

with sets, you start all your tables at the same time, so all of them will be at the same blind level.

with continuous, you just keep adding a new table every time you bust.

    set pros:
    - consistent blind levels across all tables
    set cons:
    - if you end up doing well in all your tables your play ITM suffers a lot. consider multitabling 4 tables, and you get ITM for all 4 of them. the pace is exponentially faster than 4 tables with 9 players.

    continuous pros:
    - you play more = more $$
    - you don't run into the problem above (as much)
    continuous cons:
    - you need to adjust between blind levels

Exactly, you cant mix up HU with a fullring or a shorthanded, HU is a different game, which means not the same way or playing hands, you kinda need to focus on the HU
