Default QQ in live game. terrible play?

This was at a casino PL 1-1 pound blinds game. Loose, casino players. I think this might be an example where being in a new environment (i.e. higher stakes, and live) made me nittier than usual.

I'm dealt QQ in the blind.

Shortstack in LP raises, I flat call, there's a call behind. Should I have reraised here?

    Flop comes K x x.

I check, MP checks, LP shortstack insta-pushes for about a pot-sized bet. LP has been seen showing down bluffs before.

I think about it for a while, then he says, "Oh no, you're drawing aren't you?"

    I fold.

In hindsight, this guy was a shortstack who would have been all-in to a PF reraise, so I should have just pushed him in, right? I'm still getting used to being 100% aware of stack sizes at live games. After all I'm only behind vs AA and KK. The more I think about it the stupider I feel.

However, as played, is the flop fold still just as terrible?

Like you said, putting him in with a reraise preflop would have made this way harder. The flop fold isn't terrible since there is still one player to act behind you.

I think a reraise preflop is in order. I really don't want to see a flop with more than 2 other people with QQ. I really prefer it heads up or just take down a few blinds most donks at casinos will play any rag K,A,Q or hell even rag suited J's. So reraise and put the heat on.
No man can soar higher than he able to think
