Just calling Button's AI in hand 1 is best because it may entice CO to isolate shove A-K, Q-Q if he was just calling with those hands preflop. Obviously this isn't standard but;
-even if he has A-K/Q-Q only 5% of the time in this spot and shoves 25% of the time you just call Buttons AI, you make much more money than forcing him out of the pot by shoving, where you would almost certainly force him to fold.

For hand 1, you basically don't want to push CO out of the pot if he has a hand he might call with. You're not worried about him being ahead of you, and at best he is slightly better than 3:1 against your hand. Call and beg for him to overcall.

Hand 2 is a push b/c even with terrible implied odds, the pot odds are very juicy and more than compensate for BB taking the worst of it with implied odds of hitting a set and potentially stacking you. I don't have a ton of time to do some math on this but i sense that it would be correct for BB to call with a lot of hands in that spot if you were to just call PF.

I understand that he is probably terrible postflop, and you might even be able to stack him if he is holding J-J. But, you won't know when he has outflopped you and you won't be able to get away from your hand.

Essentially, in hand 2 villain would be getting such good pot odds to call that they would more than compensate for his weak implied odds of set-stacking you.
