    Default Jacks 'n' Bitches

    1) Firstly, how's my line here? I was afraid of PickPocket being a smartass preflop with QQ-AA, but I felt he had to throw out some kind of bet on the flop if he had them - he was a decent TAG and the other two were fish. I checked because I felt that only better hands would call if I bet out.

    GAME #523816328: Texas Hold'em NL $0.25/$0.50 09-Apr-2007 22:44:08

    2) This was quite an awkward spot, I couldn't see many worse hands making this check-raise (Apart from maybe a pissed off AT), and I figured that I was either a wee bit ahead or way behind, which isn't a great place to be, but still, I'd only been there an orbit so he could be an idiot who goes crazyspewy with top pair, I didn't know.

Hand 1: you probably have to fold with so many people behind you.

    Hand 2: Easy push

Are you joking? He has a $37 stack and just put in almost a 1/3rd of it. Not only that but this board is the most harmless that could possibly come. LOL easy easy call.

Hand 2: meh its just one of those marginal spots where either one is good. I'm fine with push or fold but prob push better.

#1: push. fish love slowplaying trips.

#2 kinda read dependant, without an image yet and no reads you could prob push to flip, folding wouldn´t be bad either. why are you sitting with less than 60bb there?

That second one - he is either check/raising to get a call/raise or to get a fold. What on earth does he think calls his raise? Only a monster or an OESFD - I guess it comes down to whether an overpair fits into the monster category.

If he has, say, two pair, then playing this way does allow him to at least tale a cbet off you when you may have folded had he led out with a psb, and gives you bad odds with any single draw. He might have JJ here; he might have KK/AA I guess.

I think you're ahead quite a lot of the time, but it's how far ahead that's the question. - a lot of the hands you beat have a good chance of catching up and it's enough to skew how ahead you are.

On the plus side, I don't know if anyone could really criticise anything you do here

I think both are close. Unless you have a read that any of the aggressors here bluff with some frequency (and at this level, I assume the opposite) there is a very real chance you are beat.

Hand 1, he could have 77-88,TT, or a 4(!?) or 44/9x. QQ-AA seem quite unlikley, but people have been known to screw these up pre-flop. In any case, he thinks he's ahead. Since your hand looks like an overpair, the pairs <9 seem not real likely. Basically, you beat TT. I don't think the "slow playing" 9 factors here because the pot is so big. I think you have to call given the pot odds.

Hand 2, I think he has 2pair or straight or set. AT/JJ is the only hand you beat. Again, all bets are off if you think he is just trying to float you off your c-bet, or you have seem him play a draw fast. I would expect a m/r if he's calling bs, though.

Again, you are so short, you cannot fold.

i dont think u can fold the first one. if he called pre with a bare 9 then he is giving away money.

    second gotta push

    Why don't you buyin full?

    Thanks for the responses guys.

Hand 1, everyone else folded and my opponent showed me ATo.
Hand 2, I got brainfreeze and mucked.

I'm buying in less than full for several reasons:

    - I have a $750 bankroll, and the site I'm at (Which i can't change from for a few weeks) has 20NL not 25NL, so I'm either playing with 38 buyins at 20NL or playing with 25 buyins and buying in for $30 at 50NL.
    - I need time to adjust to the people who are able to play poker there, they didn't exist at 20NL.
    - I'm a student, I'm not willing to take big risks seeing as I have 3x as much money in my bankroll as I have in my bank account.
    - 20NL is boring and mindnumbing and I want a new challenge.

hand1: close but I think i would usually stick it in. He has T9, 98, 44 a lot tho so I dont hate a fold.

    Hand 2: stick it in
I got more flava than fruitstripe gum
