    Default KK minraised on flop(16.50)

Only 2nd hand of tourney so no reads, obv.

Table is 9 handed and I have 1500, villain has the same.
I open UTG+1 for 80(blinds 10/20), next to act calls, folds to BB who calls.

    Flop is JT5 rainbow
check, I bet 200, minraise to 400, bb drops, i...

These spots are impossible. You can't have any reads yet obviously, youve got no idea if this is a set or a draw or what. If it were me, i would probably air to the side of shoving. We get rid of draws this way, we have outs againts a flopped set.

I say this because 300 of my 1500 is in the pot, the opponent is betting weak and if you aren't winning these kind of hands later in the tourney your not going to win anyways

anyone else got ideas on this?

I hate these spots too. I'm sitting on the fence between pushing and folding.

push. AJ KJ are likely minraisers, looking for value against a probable cbet. not out of the question is TT or 55, or if you are up against an uberdonk, JT.

I like the idea that JT is about to stack us, but he's an uber donk.

    Push here.

I don't fault a push but I think calling and pushing the turn is just as good.

A minraise here very likely means that we are either destroyed (which we really can't do much about), we are way ahead (he has a hand like JQ-JA) or he has a hand like QK which he is unlikely to fold if we push.

Pushing in this case means we get called by a hand that dominates us, called by a hand that is going to win 1/3 times, and who knows what will happen with the hand we are dominating (you could get a call but you also might get a fold which we don't want).

The problem with calling and then pushing the turn is that there are a lot of scare cards on the turn since we can't really define our opp's range that well. The benefit is that I think you get the guy with JQ-JA to call more often this way.

I would put him on a draw or 2 pair +. Although, you can't tell. I would push. I normally see people on a draw when they min raise the flop.

calling behind a 4x preflop with JT is uberdonk. postflop sure, he might stack us but I'll pay off an uberdonk for this kind of move.

you should really think more about your game and less about your starting hand chart. Think and analyze Sklansky rather than memorize and regurgitate Harrington.
