Default $10 Stars MTT AKs BB

BN was fairly aggressive. Was like 20/15 over 50 hands. I reraised pre because of this and reraised fairly big because I was trying to take it down preflop since I was oop. He smooth called and I figured that I needed to lead out on this flop. My question is if c-bet on flop is standard, how much and can I fold to a reraise (pot committed?)? Does anyone feel that I can't c-bet here? Would a smooth call preflop be better so that I'm not bloating the pot?

How aggressive was him post flop? What was his aggression level in PT?

The trouble with betting around 1500 (1/2 the pot) is that you're committing yourself to the pot, betting 1000 would invite a re-raise from an agro player ... I guess your only options are to push or check/fold (check/pushing if villan bets is not good and you should have pushed before to have FE).

Analysing the situation again, a smooth call PF would have been better ...

Looking back at it, I didn't reraise too big since 1800 would be 3x his raise. I figured he had TT-JJ and AJ-AQ since he raised more than 3x. Seems to me that I committed myself and maybe a push would have been better. His total AF was 4 and his flop AF was 2. He had nothing for turn and river. I wonder if a push would be more appropriate vs. smooth calling and check/folding flop.

Raise to 2k ish pre flop, shove any flop.

As played it's close, I still probably shove. Either push or check fold, you can't bet/fold.

This 4xBB raise could also be a steal thinking that you might see a 3x as a normal steal from the button, then he raised 4x.

What do you think would be his calling range if you push? AQ+/88+?
I prefer the smooth call and check/fold if neither a K nor an A hit on the flop.
However, you could take a more aggressive line by re-raising to 2500 chips and push any flop? You'll build a nice flop (if he does not fold PF) and if you hit an A or K and he calls you can win a good pot. Furthermore, you would be giving him a 2 chances to fold: Preflop and on the flop. Plus, he would be getting 1.7-1 odds instead of 2.5-1 (with your 1500 re-raise).
I prefer this line to the push PF as some hands that will be fliping (88-TT) will call your push, will also call the re-raise, but might fold to push on the flop. Am I wrong thinking this way?

The two standard plays are push preflop and raise to 1800-2k pre and then push any flop.

As played, it's either push or check/fold that flop.

I make it 2.3k and shove any flop (sometimes check Axx/Kxx).

Just pushing is fine too although most people see it as weaker so you'll get donk calls of middle pairs.

I guess my mistake started by not reraising enough or pushing preflop. I pushed the flop.
