Hand 1 is based on reads.

you are getting over 3 to 1. Mp1 could be doing this with Ax, 56, 77, 88 or even AA. Then again he could easily be taking a stab at a pot where you showed weakness on the turn with a missed flush draw, or even hands like 22-QQ. The way he limp called, looks much more like a mid/weakish A than anything else the question is do you have enough of a read that you are ahead of this opponent more than 25% of the time to make this call?

    Hand 2 - easy fold.

Also, both of these posts reek of "why can't I ever win with my big hands" lameness. I still go through this, but posting hands like this doesn't help you get over them.

check flop in hand one, he usually doesn't have a FD (unless he has Acxc, which we don't want to bet into either) or 56 so there really isn't anything to protect against and you fold out almost every hand you beat. Gabe did a post on this (KK with A high flop) a while back in the SNG forum, you should search for it.

I agree with drmcboy, use position, check the flop and get some value of lesser hands at the river.

As played I think I fold, the bet size doesn't look bluffy to me. The flush draw is also not that likely hu in a reraised pot.

QQ hand: your reraise didn't achieve the isolation you needed so just give it up postflop, nh. Reraise more if you regularly end up in multiway (3+) pots.

I bet the 1k in hand one to see if he had an ace. Doesnt his calling mean this. Or would he have raised with an ace? I was putting him on Ax with maybe a small to medium kicker as to why he only called.

I will give it a search. Thanks

edit: For reference in case anyone else wants to read Gabes thread http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ight=high+flop

Ok, I understand what Gabe is saying in his thread. So I should just check down to river then throw out a bet if checked to me at river.

Gabes thread is about sng's though. Im new to mtt's, but being a larger tourny with bigger blinds in the later stages does this hand play the same as the sng?

Try and answer this question yourself.

Well I would say yes. But I'm asking this question for the millions of new mtt'ers out there that wanted to know

I read somewhere that early and late stages of mtt's play alot like sng's. The middle stage is different though.

You're not in the middle stage of this tourney. The rebuy just ended and the majority of the people at the table, including yourself, have decent stacks. I consider this the first stage of the tourney after the rebuy hour. Not too many people have busted out and a lot of people have big stacks in relation to the blinds. No need to build a big pot. Yes he checked to you but the board is draw heavy and there's an A. The 2nd hand is a good fold.

I realize I'm not in the middle stage of this mtt. I just put that in for reference to see if anyone would agree or disagree with that statement.
