    Default AC Trip report

I got a last minute pass to head to Atlantic City for a day trip Saturday. Played exclusively at the Trop. We gave serious consideration to entering the Borgata $300 BI but figured if things went well it would eat up the entire day. So it was off to the Trop to play in the 100 +25 MTT. started at 10:15 T5000 pretty normal crap-shoot structure. But I was sure it would be over in a couple hours to allow for cash game action.

First level I get crippled or crippled myself I guess-
EP throws out a standard 4 x BB raise to 200.
I flat call behind w/ KK (NOTE the table was extreemly tight we saw 1 flop in the first 10 hands).
Folds around to the CO or button who was a real young "beginner-type" and he repops it to like 600. Original raiser fold and I re-re pop it to 1500. I was hoping to take it down right there but see what he would do. He flat calls. Pot was huge for first level a little over 3K.
Flop was beautiful all low cards so I fire another barrel 1500 and he hems and haws and thinks and calls. Now WTF. I just invested more than 1/2 my stack here on KK what could he have. I put him on QQ or AA. If I had any balls I would have pushed on the flop !
Turn was Q and I check I figured he just hit his set or still has me in bad shape w/ AA. He checks behind.
River was the A so now what do I have beat? I check and he fires out a "please call me bet of $1K and I fold.

After I was knocked out I asked him privately what he had and he said QQ. I guess I have to believe him he had no reason to bullshit me at that point.

I double up against the same player shortly thereafter. He puts out a standard raise and gets one caller it comes to me in BB w/ 88. I'm now down to push or fold territory and push. He calls w/ AK and I win the race bringing me back up to T1900 or so.

A couple hands later guy next to me raises standard in early position. I push AI over the top w/ QQ. The guy immediatly next to me re-re pops AI. Original raiser calls.

    KK v. QQ v. AA.

Of course I start calling out for the Q and it comes on the turn to give me the set. Too bad the river brought another club to complete the 4 flush and the KK's scooped the whole pot w/ a club flush.

That was an insane hand! Rigged.

And onto the cash games. Pretty fun but uneventful. I literally sat for 11 hours at the same table. Folks came and went and overall it was a good time and a good mix of people. 2 guys I recognized from the US poker championship on ESPN from 2006.

A good mix of "old guys" and even a few youg ladies stopped in.

Overall I was down about $250.00 over the 11 hours. Literally got no cards at all. I earned every chip picking off stupid bluffs or making my own bluffs. I was actually up a couple hundred bucks when this 30-something lady sits right across from me and her boyfried sits down the other end. I pick up my only 2 legitimate PP's the whole day and she kills me. KK I had to lay down when an A came she had me. JJ I had to lay down when both the flush and st8 card came on the turn. The lady flashed me the str8. I guess the good news is my initial reads were right and I could have lost more but I knew she wasn't bluffing.

None of my baby pairs made a set and aside from the KK and JJ above I don't recall getting any big pairs or playing any significant pots w/ big pairs.

Biggest pot of the day was won by your's truely with 95s. ( I told you I wasn't getting any cards!). There was a young guy who came to the table and began to run over the table by catching some crazy cards and generally not showing any "premium" hands. So I get a cheap look from BB w/ 95h and flop was J87 w/ 2 hearts. So I think I bet w/ the double belly buster and flush draw and he called. Turn brought the heart and I bet and he raised. I reraise to put him AI because I don't put him anywhere near the flush (I guess you'd have to see him play to realize why I played a rag ass flush like this) and he calls saying "do you have the flush?" WTF could I possibly have. It turnes out he flopped 2 pair w/ J8.
