Default Double Donk-Lead Hits Top Pair

Villain has solid taggy stats (18/15/2) and hasn’t gotten out of line so far.

I have been pretty well-behaved as well.

I lead a variety of hands/flops but he doesn’t know that.

if he doesn't have a made hand wouldn't he fold to your bet

If he has KQ or AK wouldn't he raise your river bet and you'd lose more $

If you check and he bets, you'll lose less if he has you beat and win more if you have him beat by allowing him to take a stab

I mean I just don't know how he gets to the river with air, so what are we expecting him to bluff with? I either b/f or c/f. I guess it depends whether you think he'd raise AA or KK on the flop.

AJ, JQ, QQ, TT all check behind on river, so betting wouldn't be too bad.
Then again, he might be folding to a 3rd barrel with those types of hands.

What is he betting with that we beat??? Do you guys put him on like a horribly played bottom pair that's going to turn itself into a bluff or something? I think like 100% of his range has showdown value here, and he'd check behind with the hands we beat and bet with the hands that we lose to. Seems like check calling loses the most when behind and wins the least when ahead.

I'd bet smallish on river half pot or so, fold to push

    c/r turn sometimes, too
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Can offer RB deals on most sites, PM me.

Mcat's point is really what was spinning through my head in the heat of the moment :

wtf worse hand can he have that will value-bet the river if I check my super-strong line to him?

I think both shoving and check-folding have a lot of merit.

wow, what a funny hand. Plays easier if you whiff the river!
    What can he have here?
straight - probably not, needs exactly T8, and prolly raises turn.
two pair - KJ? J9? maybe.
set - I can't fathom no raise by the turn - there's no reason for him to think you are 2nd barrelling with air.
overpair (including KK set). - wonky as well.

I think he has a J. AJ at best. Maybe QJ or AJ hearts and which would explain his lack of raise, figuring (correctly) that he has you beat now and on the come. The weirdness of this hand is somewhat explained by the fact that you guys both hold 4 bw cards of the same suit.

I actually don't think we want him to bluff here, so I think a block bet is best.

the fact that C/C seems so shitty despite the "deceptive" nature of my hand is what made me feel the spot was interesting

I wish you didn't post results so soon!

I like checking the river but i don't necessarily call.
