    Default B&M Hand - $50 FO

    This is at Harrah's, NKC, MO. Blinds are at 50/100, I'm at about 3K, and have been playing pretty snug. Only hand that went to showdown was a set, and given how quiet I had been and the numerous comments here or there, my image is pretty tight.

    No real reads on anyone, other than the multitude of open limpers at B&M's. Two folds, then three limpers ~ 450 in the pot. I look down at and pop it to 700, really just hoping to pick up the dead money. Folds around to the last limper - he calls. The only thing to note about this fellow is that he played AA very softly an orbit or two before.

    Going to the flop, pot 1750. Flop come , rainbow. He checks to me, I bet 700, he reraises AI, about 1100 to call for me. I go into the tank for a while, and end up mucking, which essentially left me in P/F mold going forward...

    I'm fine with the play preflop - I think the problem/error occurs when I bet the 700. At that point, with the pot being as large as it is, I think I should have either 1) checked behind or 2) either shove AI, or call his push. Once he pushes, I think the two overs and gutshot give me the right odds to call, but left the thinking cap at home...

    In retrospect, in sounds like he was on a draw. Numerous people at our table played with him before and said he was pretty wild. He ended up busting a few orbits before I did on a dominated ace.

    Given his "tendency" to play a big pair softly, I thought he could have easily had QQQ. At the time, I ended up deciding he had a set, AQ, or some Qxrag. Any comments or advice are appreciated.

    Taking a free card on a flop when I was the initial raiser has been a very very difficult lesson for me to learn (which I still don't always follow). I think this is a good situation to do just that. As played, you have got to call getting better than 3:1 there.

    Call as played, you are priced in against the range you give, and I think it's too tight since he can show up with a straight draw or PP sometimes.

    Code:
    Board: Qh Ts 3d
    Dead:

    	equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 	73.163%  	72.98% 	00.18% 	         43352 	      107.00   { QQ, TT, 33, AQs, KQs, Q9s+, AQo, KQo, Q9o+ }
    Hand 1: 	26.837%  	26.66% 	00.18% 	         15834 	      107.00   { AsKc }
    Given he only has a PSB left, you should either check or just move it in, as you said. If you check and he checks to you on the turn I would move in for sure.

    I would push flop because he may fold a draw that he shouldn't, Tx or a PP. Plus, if you check and make a pair it may not be good so the turn will be weird if you improve and he moves in.

    That's what I thought - I just came to the conclusion an hour or so too late. Thanks for the feedback - I'll be posting more B&M hands in the upcoming weeks, so feel free to chime in. The online crowd and all the related datamining/poker software is not for me.

    I'd make it a little less preflop.

    As played, shove flop.
