Default Ahh shot my own foot off

On the turn I thought I should check behind - dry board and pf it was raised and called all over the place. But I've noticed I'm missing a lot of value by not betting enough when I'm ahead. So I bet the turn... How big a disaster was this? Should I have checked and tried to show down cheap or hit the nut flush? I have to fold right? Thanks guys

I call this all day long at $10NL. If your flop bet is $2.25 it makes the turn mucho easiero.

In this spot I don't mind the preflop call at all, would bet 2/3 potish (probably about $1.85-$2) on the flop on the button as expected when checked to, and would check-behind on the turn there to see if I might improve...either this guy has you smoked on the flop or hit his draw on the turn...I like checking-behind when given the option (and not playing for stacks anyway) after picking up a turn surprise-draw.

TPTK + NFD + A/J might be good if he's bad and on QQ + draw heavy turn = arrr in. Especially at 10nl.

Thats interesting, on the flop I was just thinking that I'd bet enough to get rid of people who missed and then see if I was raised or called and go from there. I wasn't savvy enough to plan for the turn betting but that's what I should have done... I did actually call in the end even though I felt I was beat and he had a set of 5's. Quite suprised to see the call advocated so strongly, maybe I need to reasses my calling standards.
