    Default How is this

    $55 25,000 Guaranteed on Stars.

52 players left out of 903. Big stack has started raising a lot from pretty much all positions as you would expect. I expect him to fold most Kx type of hands and call with most A8+ hands, and expect the lowest PP's to fold. I have been very tight, stealing occasionally, but nothing of note.

If you're expecting a call, I'd rather do this with a hand more like 78, 9J, etc, than with a weak A where you are so likely dominated.

    Couple of points

1 -- I agree with Char, if you are gonna do this, don't do this with ace rag, do it with a hand that's less likely dominated J9, 109, 67, 78 etc...

2 -- Your stack is not really a great re-steal stack. I'd rather not make this move and push any 2 when folded to me. 25k at 1500/3k you gotta be looking to push any 2 when folded to you, not resteal, you lost a lot of your re-steal fold equity.

3 -- Don't do this against an UTG raiser, albeit he is the big stack and should be bullying -- I'm still not really super enthusiastic about shoving on an UTG raiser.

thanks, what is the calling range for a typical big stack in this situation? what if I have 15-20k more chips?

well there is 11850 out there and he has to call 13266 more to win 11850 + 25116. so 13k to win 38k... sounds like any two to me.

I only like this raise if UTG has literally almost raised every single hand pf for the entire revolution.

Yeah, the re steal bus left two orbits ago when you had 35k. If you want to do something here I would stop and go but mostly I just fold.

    the cards really don't matter.

ya, I think in the heat of the moment I failed to realize just how much of my stack his initial raise was. silly me.

If I have about 10k more and/or villain is a med stack instead of a big stack its probably not as bad, but still not good.

He thought for a while then called w/ 44, so it was about as good as I could hope for, other than a 67
