    Default Got stuck with TPWK

    Full Tilt Poker Game #2400887283: $2 + $0.25 Sit & Go (18165900), Table 1 - 40/80 - No Limit Hold'em - 12:44:03 ET - 2007/05/11
    Seat 1: yakherder (2,440)
    Seat 2: spin23 (1,610)
    Seat 4: AirHoward (3,155)
    Seat 6: eugmac (1,795)
yakherder posts the small blind of 40
spin23 posts the big blind of 80
The button is in seat #6
    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to eugmac [9s Kc]
    AirHoward folds
eugmac raises to 240 Reasonable enough hand to steal blinds with?
    yakherder folds
spin23 calls 160 I had colour-coded this guy "yellow" earlier in the tourney, I give these to passive calling station types.
    *** FLOP *** [4h Kh 3s]
    spin23 checks
eugmac bets 300 Lucky me, the flop looks good for me, I bet.
    spin23 calls 300
    *** TURN *** [4h Kh 3s] [Td]
    spin23 checks
eugmac bets 450 Just check behind perhaps? I don't want to give a free card either here though, and I've been given no reason to believe I'm beat.
    spin23 calls 450
    *** RIVER *** [4h Kh 3s Td] [Ts]
spin23 bets 620, and is all in
eugmac calls 620 A heart didn't hit, so uh... I'm getting better than 3:1 here. Then again I only beat a bluff, right? I thought maybe a missed flush draw does this...

    [woohoo i'm three-of-a-kind now.]

    eugmac,
I think the steal is ok if the blinds are tight, but I don't like it as much against spin, given your read. On the flop, your bet is fine. On turn, definitely check behind, since your hand can't stand too much heat. You want a cheap showdown with TPBK. On the river, I think you have to fold. Passive stations usually play very straightforward, I would bet he spiked trip tens or a weird two pair. BTW, when he calls your CB, that is usually a sign you're way ahead/ way behind in the hand, even if he's a passive station. If you had TPTK, I could see value betting, but here checking the turn is the best option.

No problem with the initial raise. Opps is a calling station so their call from the BB is expected.

I think the flop bet was right amount. No reason to believe your behind. What would opp call with pre flop?? small pair, Ax? Have they played hands agressive at all or just check/call all game?

The turn is where I MIGHT check. That said I don't think your bet is unreasonable.

River......hmmm.........tough spot. Passive call stations are hard to put on hands. All of a sudden opp became aggressive. Would he/she put the rest of their chips in w/o beating your K?
It's not how many pots you win, it's what's in them that counts.

If your read is that he is a passive calling station just push the turn, he may have you outkicked, or he may have a worse kicker or a midpair, you have the chip advantage and you dont want to give him a card on the turn
