Default Serious Tourney Players - Advice Appreciated!!

Im a pretty successfull online cash player with little tourney experience especially live. Next weekend I am taking a stab at the South African Open and was just wondering if there are some obvious adjustments to make to a typical Semi Loose Aggressive cash game strategy.

I am posting the tournament structure below but have no idea if it is important. Is is a good / bad structure. Should it influence my style at any point? Starting chips = 10 000 and levels = 60 minutes. Any short and sweet tips appreciated!!

    Edit: 250 players - freezeout

If you are decent at cash, then with these blind levels use your cash game skills. It looks like you will be pretty deep stacked for at least 120 min.

That looks like a pretty good structure compared to alot of the live ones ive seen. Ive seen alot where levels are only 25-30 min and starting out with only 40-50bb. Whats the buyin for the tournament?

I'd say your goal with stacks this deep this early is to stack-a-donk.

You have time to be patient and see how your table is playing. So use it.

This is very similar to the structure of the WSOP Circuit event I just came from.

The first couple of levels I would definitely just play according to your solid cash-game style. Try to get reads on your opponents. From there, figure out where you have good spots to make some moves - who you can target and who you can call down thin.

If you get a chance, play in some of the side events first. It will give you great experience going in. Don't look at your cards on the deal; instead work on watching everything everyone at your table does while they are getting their cards - who looks at them immediately? Do they do anything with their cards to belie how they feel about them? What do they do when it gets to them? Specifically watch their eyes and their hands.

Thanks guys. This worked out great. As advised I just played my normal game for a day and a half.Built up a reasonable stack. Got aggressive on the evening of day 2 and all of a sudden it was final table...

3rd place finish which I am very chuffed with.

Tournament was really good although they didnt get the full field they were hoping for. But I think its going to grow in the future. All those looking for African safari's and a game on the side put this one in your diary for next year.

I posted the hand that crippled me here...
