Fold probably, unless u think he's fos or will pay off big on the river. Our pair outs may well be no good, and we're not getting odds to draw to the flush. Often a spade on the river will freeze the villain up, so it might be tough to get paid.

Unless you have a read that villain is really bad, I fold. I don't see how we're ahead here. I think we're up against KQ, JsTs, KsJs, or 66 vs decent 10NL players or A6, AQ, AK against bad ones. Turning TPNK isn't enough for me to want to play a big pot with this action IMHO.

Forget the fact that you are on a draw because you don't have the greatest of odds to be calling. He's either bluffing or you have 9-11 outs, so it's really read dependant.

in a sng i'd probably shove or fold...but this is cash.

You have NUT flush draw plus overcard and backdoor broadway draw. The deeper the stacks are, the more value your had has, because you have outs to the nuts. 3 outs to pair of Aces can be insurance policy if villain can't fold weak pair to flop pressure.




By raising on cheap street with strong draw you put pressure on weaker hands (like KJish pairs) and can fold them off their equity. Stronger hands (2p, sets) may smoothcall and go to trapping mode by going for check/raise on turn. Then you can peel the river by checking behind - which is cheaper than flatcalling two potsized barrels.

Raising flop with draw and seeing free river can backfire of course - opponent can 3bet AI, donk turn or bluff you off on river if it bricks (and he has also some draw, like JT or lower spades). But in most cases it's nice deceptive play and if you don't overuse it, you have deception and lots of fold equity on your side.

Raise flop BIG.

The free card thing is not really a NL concept.

The free card is a play where you raise the flop a lesser amount than you would like to call on the turn. It's a limit play, and an effective one. But in NL it is not quite as effective.

The flop raise should be for 4 reasons:

1. Villain may fold a better hand (this is a semi-bluff bet)
2. We build a larger pot so it is easier to get all the money in when we hit
3. It disguises our hand
4. We hopefully fold out more of our outs

Raise flop to like $2... bet 1/2-2/3 pot with Ace up on turn. Value bet river.

This a read dependant hand for me. Loose/Tight? I put him on Kx, maybe even FD as well.

Thx guys. food for thought. The free card is not something I've tried doing before and something I need to consider ops may be up to. There is so much more to consider in cash that I haven't encountered in a sng.

I have been making this move to inflate the pot for when I hit but I realised I'm not totally sure of myself and the hands I should be doing it with. I suspect with the weaker draws (middle pair + oesd) it becomes more read dependant.
