In this case, the lead bet was too large to a usual blocking bet, your villian has a big piece of the flop and is afraid of the straight.
Juanafear limped UTG and was the first caller of your big preflop raise. That really smells like a pocket pair and the villian could be set camping.
Now is the large lead bet consistent with a set on that board? Absolutely, a board of 10,9,8 is a nightmare if you flop a set of 8's and mostly you feel relieved if you can capture the pot on the flop.
If I had to bet, your villian has a set. Of course they could have anything, but if their hand is anything else make sure your you put a big fat calling station note of them.
