I hate watching these things on youtube/tv. Its just not as cool. Can never tell whose actor and whose real, can never tell what cuts are just cuts because they need to move the camera, or because theyre switching to a "cold deck". Its just not as cool.

My main complaint about Chris (or Kris, if youre a self absorbed douchewad) Angel is that he has way, way, way too many actors on the payroll. Thats not cool, its not unique. Anyone can pay someone to pretend to be amazed.

But I love magic, and am really getting into sleight of hand stuff. Incredibly interesting.

And penn & teller are still my favorite "true" magicians around.

This is the best thing about Derren Brown - he doesn't pretend any of it is real and just concentrates on the entertainment. Most of his stuff deals with the power of suggestion and he purposely selects people who are open to this.

The idea is awesome but I dont think he executes that one very well. Too many things I don't like:

First, she knows she's going to be on the show. It should be in the front of her mind since she was going to something FOR the show wearing clothes they've picked. It's so much warning.

Ive been working on my shuffles lately. I can now shuffle out any card I want from a "true" shuffled deck. Well, I guess not quite. I can pick out say a black jack -- I cant necessarily pick out the J of clubs yet, but I'll get there.

But yeah, once you can do that consistently, its awesome what you can do. Even with only being able to pick out a red ace, you can do some majorly cool shit (like rig poker decks flops ;p)
