    Default Home Game Hand

Haven't had much action...started with $20 stacks and blinds were .10/.20 for 45 min. Most of the players are not good at the game at all...slowplaying crap til the river, never raising aces and kings preflop and definitely not playing them hard enough, chasing draws, sounds like your typical 25nl game online. 9-handed table. Here's the hand

    Hero UTG with 8-8 ($23)
    Villain UTG+1 ($24)

Hero limps for .20, along with 5 others

    Flop: K-J-9
    checked around

    Turn: 8!!!!!
Hero bets $2, Villain raises to 5, everyone else gets out of the way

    River: J
Hero bets 5, Villain raises all in for about 19 more (has me slightly covered) Hero ?????

*I didn't instacall or anything I sat and thought about it. I was pretty sure he didn't have 99+ pp wise. Usually he is a tight player and raises when he has some decent cards preflop like ak...otherwise, just kinda limpy. So that narrows it down to k-j, j-9, and j-8 that have me beat....I rule out j-8 because there are 3 8's showing. So that goes down to j-9 and k-j. I thought to myself that someone wouldn't want to slowplay this big board with so many ppl in; Also, in addition to thinking what two hands had me beat, I knew he could be making this play with straight cards 10Q, 7-10, etc and also with any Jx. I finally called but I won't tell what hand he had yet. Was my logic correct or do I need to learn that when someone at this level does this type of betting and usually they aren't bluffing that he has me beat?

So that's two hands that beat you, and loads that don't. Instacall.

    I agree.

As an aside... did he have Jx?

He pulled a newbie move and slowplayed KJ on a multiway board....this is what I hate about players who don't completely understand the risks involved. It's hard to put them exactly on a hand like this. But yeah, I lost hehe. I figured there wasn't really an easier way to do it besides check/call the river but wouldn't I be missing value?

Lots and lots of value. Hand was fine except I'd probably bet more than five if I think Jx, a straight, AK, whatever is going to call.
