    Default First 25NL session!

    Guys,

I started playing cash games and I think I'll do it for a while.
Could I have your input on this hand?

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    MP2 ($6.35)
    MP3 ($8.10)
    CO ($31.80)
    Button ($25)
    SB ($25.50)
    BB ($18.70)
    UTG ($30.95)
    Hero ($26)
    MP1 ($20.80)

    Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q, J.
    1 fold, Hero calls $0.25, 2 folds, MP3 calls $0.25, 2 folds, BB raises to $0.75, Hero calls $0.25, MP3 calls $0.25.

    Flop: ($1.85) 5, Q, 2 (4 players)
BB bets $0.75, Hero raises to $2.4, MP3 folds, BB raises to $4.8, Hero ????.

Table was quite tight. My image was tight. raiy3 was stealing some pots on the flop. However, I haven't seen him 3 betting with a bluff. sara04 was pretty weak/tight.

On this hand, raiy3 thought a bit before raise Pre-flop. I could put him on AA-KK but I didn't want to believe too many monsters under the bet (as taipan always puts it), I called the pre-flop raise. After his standard flop bet I thought either he might indeed have AA-KK and I put in a raise to check it out. His small 3-bet puzzled me, is he bluffing? or does he really has AA-KK (QQ was also a possibility). He also thought a lot before betting. He defintely did not put me on trips and I was tight and raised on the flop.
I'm getting about 4.5-1, this is a standard call, even if he was QQ, I suppose?
Would you call up to 1/3 bet on the turn if a non-flush card comes?

    Thanks!

From his 3x preflop raise - i think A/Q, A/K is a likely holding. However, after he bets, you re-raise, and then he min re-raises you - i think you are beat here. 99% of the time All that you are beating here is A/K - and if he has A/K of clubs, he still has a good chance of catching up.

I would fold - even though the odd's dicate a call - the only card which can possibly save you is another Q (even that might have you beat) or another jack - very unlikely. What happens on the turn if he fires $3-4 at you - again odd's would dicate a call - but this is not the place to chace.

I say fold. You have only commited $3 to the pot with a marginal hand.

I'd call and see what happens on the turn.

If your hand hasn't improved and he bets, fold.

    Drinking your milkshake.
I don't always play QJs from up front like this, but it's OK in a fishy game i guess. I fold to the flop reraise here, sure we're getting 4.5-1, but I think it's likely were are drawing to 5 outs at best.

the reverse implied odds make calling the flop a mistake.
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

Don't you think we could stack opp if he is plaing AA/KK and if a J (and possibly another Q) hits on the turn?
OK, maybe only the J would be good as Q would also be good to KQ/AQ ...
Or am I being too optimistic?
