    Default Flop quads, get chips!

Ok, no real question here, I'm just so happy I need to share!

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    BB (t3130)
    UTG (t1005)
    UTG+1 (t1390)
    MP1 (t1560)
    Hero (t1470)
    MP3 (t1405)
    CO (t1350)
    Button (t1490)
    SB (t700)

    Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 2, 2.
    3 folds, Hero calls t20, MP3 calls t20, 2 folds, SB raises to t40, BB calls t20, Hero calls t20, MP3 calls t20.

    Flop: (t160) 7, 2, 2 (4 players)
SB bets t660 (All-In), BB folds, Hero raises to t1430, MP3 folds.

    Turn: (t2250) 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    River: (t2250) 4 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Final Pot: t2250

    Results:
SB has 7h 9h (two pair, sevens and twos).
Hero has 2h 2c (four of a kind, twos).
    Outcome: Hero wins t2250.

My main concern when I saw the flop was how to make any chips off it, but fortunately the short stack threw some my way.
Just dipping my toes back in.

First one - I might just flat call the flop rather than reshoving to (perhaps infintesimally) increase the chance that MP3 comes along with a diamond draw, 7x or a pocket pair.

Second one is played perfectly, nh.

MP3 did think hard about calling my push (well took a while anyway), so I wondered the same thing. I guess if I called and they did too, I should be able to get it AI on the turn anyway, so I think you're right on that one.

Fortunately I can now say I won this tourney. Would have been embarrassing to lose after being dealt quads twice.

this actually applies to both hands. What are you doing raising hand 1? Never make a bet that you don't understand.

Agreed. Force of habit, applying a methodology in the wrong spot. I do need to slow down and think about my betting sometimes. At least I can blame this on a rush of excitement .

I very rarely call AIs if I have them covered. If I feel I have the pusher covered but dont want to see other hands (say perhaps they're short stacked but theres a medium/big stack behind me), I'll push instead of call. Obviously here I have the absolute nuts so its a bad play. I'd done it before I thought about it.

2nd hand was funny. At worst I had to have had Jx by my betting, so he never should have called the river. He actually suspected I might have pocket Js, so he called the AI just out of morbid interest as to whether I'd hit quads again.

See what I mean about the stuff some of these guys will call a push with at these levels?
