2nd hand of $6.50 Turbo.

Results 1 to 11 of 11

Default 2nd hand of $6.50 Turbo.

Few questions on this hand I felt I played badly.

1)Pre flop should I just dump this this early?
2)should I have raised more on the flop?
    3) Should I have reraised the Turn? I thought opp may have J-8 so just called, As soon as I called I knew I should have thought about what I was gonna do if oppo bet the river, which he did. then I was stumped.

Any Jack has me beat, easy fold?

Preflop: Fold from UTG+1. From this position I am raising AQ+, JJ+, limping 22-TT and mucking everything else.

Flop: I would raise by about the size of the pot. There is 100 in the pot when it gets to you, make it 140 to go.

Turn: I think flat calling is fine

River: I fold it - I'd say you're beat at this point - although opps at the $6.50s show you crap you beat often enough to wonder whether this is a crying call...

Cheers Tai, I think I'll just fold in the same spot next time.

I did make a crying call on the end, oppo flipped J-7.

My post flop game definately needs a lot of work. I find myself in tough spots not knowing what the right move is. will learning to play NL cash games help fix this?

My Push/shove game has really came on since I purchased SNGWIZ.

Yes, playing NL cash games will DEFINITELY help - I've played about 50,000 hands of NL cash in total - I started playing to improve my postflop game particularly with deeper stacks and $1,200 later found it was quite profitable

Glad to see that SNG Wiz has helped. I Sharkscoped you too, nice results!

May start playing some cash soon. have to read up on it first though.

One piece of good advice I got, was that every bet should have a reason. You're either betting to get information, to give information, or to mislead (probably others but you get the point). If an action doesnt help you in some way, chances are its the wrong action.

Interesting on the NL cash thing. I stopped playing S&Gs when I first started playing because I sucked and was losing money. Ring let me learn basic ABC poker at pretty much break even. Since I got better at S&Gs I've been doing them exclusively. Interesting thought as to whether I should still play some ring for practise, or stick to S&Gs. I'm tempted to think atm I'm better of concentrating on S&Gs until I feel like I have a good handle on them and go back to ring when theres something in particular I feel I need to work on (Like Tai wanting to improve his postflop play).
Just dipping my toes back in.

Good point. I think I need to stop and think before I act sometimes. I often act
to quickly without thinking and its definatley a leak of mine which I will concentrate on plugging..... as of now lol.

I just followed Taipans lead and sharkscoped you. It gives me hope. Its nice to see I'm not the only one with some ups and downs and that you're making a decent ROI regardless.

Preflop: I dont really like the limp, but its OK
    Flop: Fine
Turn: I think I push the turn , unless he has T5, 55 or 68 it does not really help him, and you have TPTK with a FD, it is good enough for me to push

    As played fold the river

You're absolutely right, I misread the board, I did not see that OP picked up the nut flush draw on the turn. I am shoving the turn too.

I think Tai looked at my sharkscope results before I went on a little bad run. Just finished 3rd in a $6.50 SnG to end my losing run (I stupidly played a $16 and 2 $10 MTT's and didnt cash in any ). Also finished OOTM in 5 $6.50's. Hopefully thats the end of it though lol.

Your answers to posts are of a high standard and your definately on the right track.

I read some of your posts and think "thats what I was thinking" but i can't put things into words very well lol.

edit: Also forgot to say your posts are very well thought out and you seem to be very much a thinking player and thats a very good thing. I need to work on my "think before acting" technique a little... lol
