Default At a loss for words. WTF happened? $16 turbo

And I lost the raw HH sorry. Hope you don't mind.

A bit of history. I am being staked into the $16 turbos for 20 games. I haven't played at the 16's in over 6 months. I'm only two tabling so I can pay attention here. My logic here is the BB is going to have me killed so basically by folding I give myself a chance to win where as calling pretty much is the end of me IMO.

The button had been pushing a lot when folded to him once we got short handed.

So how bad did I fuck this up/
    Thanks,

    Jeanie

You made one mistake I see, you should have pushed AI instead of calling. You call when you dont mind if someone else comes along. Probably only with AA or KK. With AJ you're probably ahead of the original push, but you really want to do this HU.

Hmm, then you have 500 behind to the push from the bigstack. Folding is unlikely to let you win, but if big stack beats shortstack (you gotta think he's got the odds), then at least you limp ITM and still have some chance. You can still survive a couple of rounds of blinds even and who knows.

That said if both you and shorty go out, you get 3rd by default anyway since you had most chips going into the hand, and if you happen to win you're really set well for the ITM phase.

So I guess you flip a coin, probably finish 3rd and have a small chance of improving, or more probably finish 3rd but have a good chance of improving if you win.

I probably go for gold and call having sat and thought it through, but in the heat of the moment I probably fold and let the smallstack donk out.

[edit] actually I take back my first sentence. While thats normally true, with 500 behind I doubt it makes a lick of difference to whether someone else comes along whether you call or push, and this way it gave you options.

    Definately push.

When you folded you left yourself about 500, which means if the small stack wins you are bubbling out of the tournament.

AJ is a great hand in this position, with you pushing BB will have to call very tight.

    Edit came too late.

With a push adding little FE, is that still the right move? I dont know that it will make BB play much tighter? Then again if we decide that theres no way we want to leave 500 behind if a bigstack pushes, then why not.

    I agree

The difference between the call and push isn't that great in this situation, but I still have to push to practice good habit with this hand. Also, folding and leaving yourself this crippled is wrong. Even if you're dominated here, you gain more than if you fold.

If your read on the button is correct and he's pushing wide, i'm still folding AJo here with 14x BB. SNGPT has this as a - 0.1 EV call if button's pushing: 22+,A2s+,A3o+,KTs+,KJo+,QJs -"loose" pushing range.

Clearly, if you called the buttons push you can't be folding with only 545 chips remaining, that's insane.
