Default Flop Trips and I shut down

I have 4 hands on the SB. I don't want him folding 55-QQ so I don't raise the flop. I assume if he has a FD I'm going to get checked to once he bricks the turn. However, he fires the turn for 2/3 pot so I have to ask myself if it's 44/K2-AK/99+. Im about 3:1 against that range but it's not weighted at all as 99-QQ should be majorly discounted. When the river hits I'm not folding and I don't see enough hands in his range that call a push that I actually beat which could make raising here +EV. FWIW I really was not expecting a turn lead. River bet looks half block-betish half value bet screaming for a flush to shove over his underboat.

I raise the flop anyway, hopefully PP's over 44 will still call the flop raise. I think you have to raise somewhere on the flop or turn anyways and if you raise the turn your hand is face up. Your hand is very strong and almost the nuts, because it's unlikely that he could have AK or K4 here. 44 is realistically the only thing that's beating you.

With how you played it the river is tough but you have to cry call.
