Default $6.50 tourney - unlucky, bad play, or out played?

I got a nice stack of chips here and lost them all to come 5th. Most of my losses were with >10x BB when I std raised and got shoved over.

Looks pretty much OK, only hand I didn't like was the standard raise in Hand 11. Stacks are just too shallow for this play.

    5. ATo - yes, just put opp AI on the flop if you are going to c-bet (which I would).

    6. 53o - I'd bet the river for 1/2 pot, you're very likely good here since opp showed no strength. If he had a Q or T he would have bet somewhere.

    7. KJo - yes, don't limp it preflop, just let it go. If you were in the SB it would of course be a different matter.

    9. J8o - whilst as a general rule I think about not c-betting a flop with two broadways or an A, I think I would have bet 600 here. Your stack is deep enough to take the hit if you have to fold.

    10. A9s - with your stack size I don't hate this. Either what you did or folding are both fine. Quite read dependent on the table.

    11. QTo - I'd dump it from the CO. When your stack is getting down to 11-12x BB you need to save your chips for a shoving spot, you basically can't standard raise any more - and SNGPT will tell you this is not a shove.

    12. 85o - no choice, you have to shove although I hate having to shove into the big stack. Unlucky that he had a monster hand.

    Pre-flop is probably fine.

    Must raise that turn.

The blinds were playing fairly tight and passive, JOMES was very loose and somewhat aggressive. I considered he might call here, but otherwise expected a fold. I had stolen his blinds before so he didnt like me, but this time they werent his I was after.

Yeah, I wasnt sure there. I'm still trying to work out how aggressive to be with medium hands like this one.

Raising to around 1k puts eveyone who figures to be able to call all-in.

Yeah, but in this case I'm in the hand with another 3k+ stack and a 3 flush on the board. Do I want to build the pot here?

The deep stack just called the 200. I think he folds to your raise a very large % of the time. When he does call, he's got to wonder if you have 2pr or a set or flush or something too.

Ask yourself: Why are you cool with shoving rags pre-flop, but not cool with shoving a lukewarm hand post-flop when no one has shown much strength? Sometimes you run into Aces, sometimes you run into a flush, sometimes you run into a set. Usually you're good. Same shit, different street.

Ok. That smoothcall did look more like a draw than a flush.

Is this basically a squeezeplay except I actually do have something behind it?

Between the protected pot and the action + other stacks you know that they know you can't be bluffing here. You just happen to have one of the weaker hands in your range.
